EXCELLENT QUITE LUXURY GET-AWAY! If you’re looking for a resort away from the tourists this place is fantastic! Service was amazing from the moment we arrived. The hotel room was clean, beautiful, and complete with modern shower and gorgeous view of the mountains no to mention it comes with complementary breakfast. Highly recommend doing the jet ski rental, more than a run and gun ride, it is a unique scenic view of the Bokor mountain ranges via the river! My wife and I wanted to celebrate or Anniversary and this was the perfect way to do it in Kampot!

5/5

After spending some time in Phnom Penh my husband planned a refreshing luxury getaway in Kampot. I like that Castle Bayview is 5 mins by car from the main town area because we could quietly enjoy the beautiful, peaceful views of the river and Bokor mountain after a day of sightseeing and activities. I highly recommend taking a jet ski out on the river to get some even better views. The buffet breakfast was the perfect way to start the day and all the staff are very attentive and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at Castle Bayview Hotel. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was extremely nice, comfortable, and had a stunning view of the bay — we loved waking up to that view each morning. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and the food was exceptional. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. The staff were very nice and very welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Castle Bayview Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with amazing views and great dining. We would definitely stay and eat here again!

My first time staying here. The only drawback was the bathroom which had a strange smell, but they immediately offered to change the room. Staff great, especially Mr. Mong who was very nice. Great food. Highly recommend staying here.

Bars 428 m 5 min walk 4.6/5 on Google

High Tide Kampot is 428 m north of Castle Bayview Resort & Spa — about 5 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The other place under “bars” within reach of Castle Bayview Resort & Spa is Royal Kampot KTV (1.8 km).

High Tide Kampot is a riverside bar built around dog rescue and rehabilitation. Visitors find a working sanctuary where rescued dogs live and socialise throughout the day, with drinks and light refreshments available. The bar operates from a riverside location where guests can spend time with the animals, and the owner offers boat cruises down the river at sunset as part of the experience.

What makes the place distinctive is the genuine care visitors observe in how the dogs are treated. Guests consistently mention the owner's deep commitment to animal welfare and the dogs' visible contentment and friendliness. The staff are described as kind and knowledgeable about dog behaviour and rehabilitation. Visitors appreciate that there is no entrance fee, with support coming through purchasing drinks or merchandise. A few reviewers noted they returned multiple times during their stay, suggesting the experience holds up to repeat visits.

The bar is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, making it accessible for morning visits with the dogs or for sunset river cruises. It suits anyone spending time in Kampot with an interest in animals or who wants to support rescue work while having a drink by the water. Expect a casual, welcoming atmosphere rather than a conventional bar scene, and plan to interact with the dogs if that appeals to you.

BaZaar Café & Healing Space

Restaurants 717 m 9 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

BaZaar Café & Healing Space is 717 m east of Castle Bayview Resort & Spa — about 9 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Castle Bayview Resort & Spa are Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) (2.2 km) and Laundry Cafe Burger Bar (2.2 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked away in Kampot, this café pairs homemade, health-oriented food with a garden setting at the back, complete with hammocks. The signature order across visits is the Buddha bowl, alongside kefir, mango lassi, tonics, and a chocolate cookie that regulars keep coming back for. Beyond food, the space leans into its "healing" name with offerings like tarot readings, and the overall feel is artistic and calm rather than a quick-stop café.

Guests are consistently enthusiastic about the food quality, describing it as fresh, clearly homemade, and flavourful, with the Buddha bowl mentioned again and again as the reason to visit. The garden seating and hammocks come up repeatedly as a highlight, giving the place a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that some visitors returned to daily. The one practical gripe is the lack of air conditioning, noticeable on hot days since the space is open-air. Prices are described as higher than typical local spots, though reviewers who mention this generally feel the quality justifies it, and cash-only payment has been noted as well.

This suits travellers looking for a slower, more contemplative meal rather than a fast bite, and it works well for an afternoon of tea and cake as much as a full meal. It is open daily except Sunday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, so it is not an evening dinner option. Given the open-air setup, arriving earlier in the day or in cooler weather may be more comfortable. Bring cash, and if the garden and hammocks are part of the appeal, allow enough time to actually sit and stay rather than just eat and go.

Farm Link is 1.2 km south-east of Castle Bayview Resort & Spa — about 15 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Castle Bayview Resort & Spa are Krong Kampot (2.2 km) and Seahorse Statue (2.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Farm Link is a working pepper cooperative and educational space in central Kampot that showcases the production of the region's famous pepper. Visitors tour a small processing facility and farm plot where staff demonstrate how black, red, and white pepper are sorted, dried, and prepared. The cooperative collects harvests from dozens of local small farmers. You can handle and taste different pepper varieties alongside other products the group produces, including long pepper, vanilla, salt, and sugar.

Staff consistently earn praise for their knowledge and friendliness, patiently explaining the labour-intensive processes behind each pepper type and answering questions in French and English. Visitors repeatedly mention the value proposition: Kampot pepper costs notably less here than at local markets, and staff will guide you through the tasting and selection process without pressure. The cooperative model itself appeals to those interested in supporting local farming directly. A minor note appears in one review about impulse buying—the prices and variety apparently make it easy to leave with more than planned.

The site operates mornings and early afternoons, closed around midday. Plan for a 30 to 45-minute visit. It suits anyone with interest in how local products are made, those seeking authentic souvenirs at reasonable prices, and travellers wanting context on Kampot's agricultural identity. The hands-on elements—smelling, tasting, watching manual sorting—make it accessible to most visitors regardless of expertise. Allow time before a midday closure if you're visiting in the morning slot.

The cafe has functional wifi and air conditioning, making it suitable for working as well as casual visits. The setting appeals to people who enjoy photographing their drinks.

Visitors consistently praise the coffee quality, with several describing it among the best they have had in Kampot. Matcha lattes and charcoal lattes are mentioned specifically. The atmosphere draws repeated compliments for being chill and lovely, and staff are noted for being helpful and speaking English. Prices are described as affordable. The main caution is that cold drinks tend toward the sweeter side, which works well for some but may not suit those preferring less sugar.

The cafe opens daily from 7:00 AM and closes at 6:30 PM, making it accessible for early breakfast or an afternoon stop. It functions well as a morning work spot or a place to spend an hour between activities in Kampot. It suits coffee enthusiasts and anyone seeking a quiet, air-conditioned refuge during the heat of the day.

Royal Kampot KTV is a karaoke bar in central Kampot that operates around the clock. The venue offers private karaoke rooms, including a Diamond room noted for its appearance, and serves food described as healthy and fast-casual in style. The setting attracts both local and visiting clientele.

Guests consistently praise the friendliness of staff and describe receiving respectful treatment during their visits. The management and female staff members draw particular mention for attentiveness. Some visitors highlight the VIP treatment available to clients. One reservation worth noting: the cashier service has been flagged as disorganized by at least one visitor, though this does not reflect the broader feedback about the venue's hospitality.

The bar is open every day of the week without closing time, making it accessible at any hour. It sits on NR3 highway in Kampot town. The venue appears to suit groups looking for private karaoke sessions and those seeking a social environment with attentive service, though those sensitive to administrative efficiency at the payment stage may want to mentally prepare for a slower checkout.

Samaki Market is 1.8 km south-east of Castle Bayview Resort & Spa — about 22 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “markets”.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Castle Bayview Resort & Spa is Kampot Night Market (2.1 km).

Samaki Market is Kampot's main general market, occupying a central location where locals shop for everyday supplies. The stalls spread across the space with distinct sections: fresh produce including tropical fruits like mangosteen, sugar apple, and salak; seafood and meat counters; clothing and textiles; jewelry; and toys. Beyond retail, the market also houses practical services—hair salons, key cutting, and shoe and clothing repair shops. The atmosphere is authentically local rather than tourist-oriented, with vendors setting up from early morning and the space growing busy with tuk tuks and motorbikes.

Visitors consistently praise the market's range and authenticity, noting that you can find nearly everything in one place at local prices. The produce section draws particular attention, especially the fresh tropical fruits available at the north-side kiosks; seafood like crab is noted at around 3-4 USD per kilogram, with cooking services available for 1-3 USD. The main criticism visitors mention is limited parking, which can be frustrating during peak hours. Several reviewers note that the best time to shop is early morning, around 5am after vendors set up, both for the best selection and to avoid produce that has been sitting out.

The market operates daily from 7am to 5pm. It suits visitors looking to shop like locals, eat inexpensively, or source ingredients for self-catering. Early morning is essential if you want the freshest pick and easier navigation, though expect crowded conditions with vehicular traffic during those peak hours. This is a working market for locals first, so it rewards those who arrive prepared and early.

The market combines practical shopping with casual dining and entertainment. Visitors find textile stalls, small shops selling clothing and everyday goods, scattered eateries serving budget meals, and a dedicated area with activities for children. It functions primarily as a local gathering place rather than a tourist destination, though visitors do pass through.

Guests consistently describe the market as clean, small, and charming. The food is mentioned positively for being tasty and affordable. Visitors note it is welcoming to families and children, with several describing it as a good spot to hang out with friends or family. The atmosphere appeals to people seeking an authentic local experience rather than a polished tourist venue. No significant complaints appear in visitor feedback, though the size is acknowledged as modest.

The night market operates every day of the week until 10 PM, making it accessible for evening visits. Krong Kampot is a riverside town in southern Cambodia that has become a growing destination for both local and international visitors. The town sits along the Preaek Tuek Chhu River and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding region, including access to Bokor National Park, pepper farms, and fruit plantations. Visitors find a mix of attractions: colonial-era architecture from the French period, waterfront promenades, boat trips (including evening firefly-watching tours), and fresh seafood restaurants. The town itself operates at a slow pace, with the option to walk through streets with river breezes or explore nearby agricultural areas.

What draws people to Kampot is its unhurried atmosphere and variety of activities within reach. Visitors consistently praise the charm of the old buildings, the relaxed feel of the place, and the quality of local food, particularly the seafood and the region's famous pepper. A pepper farm tour comes recommended by multiple visitors. The riverfront area is noted as pleasant for strolling and watching sunsets. However, some visitors suggest a day or two is sufficient rather than a longer stay, and at least one mentioned that the water quality near the town centre can appear murky. The town is acknowledged as fairly commercial, though this has brought a decent range of restaurants and hotels.

Kampot works best for travellers seeking a quieter stop with cultural and culinary interest rather than a beach resort atmosphere. The pace suits those wanting to rest between busier destinations. The nearby pepper farms and access to Bokor National Park make it useful as a base for day trips. Most visitors see it as a worthwhile detour for one to three days while travelling through southern Cambodia.
