Guests can swim and fish in the river, trek through jungle, visit nearby waterfalls, and explore mangroves by boat. This was our second stay at Canvas & Orchids Retreat, and once again it exceeded all expectations. The glamping amenities are truly luxurious yet perfectly in harmony with the surrounding rainforest and river. What makes this place even more special is the exceptional customer service. The staff, all from that area, bring genuine warmth and care to every interaction. They went above and beyond to help my fiancé plan a surprise engagement breakfast and also made surprize birthday cake for my fiancé, which made our stay unforgettable. Beyond hospitality, Canvas & Orchids is deeply involved in eco‑tourism and community empowerment. Their initiatives support local schools and help preserve the environment, making every guest feel part of something meaningful. If you’re looking for a retreat that combines comfort, nature, and heartfelt connection with the local community, this is the place to be. We are grateful for the memories and look forward to returning again.

Amazing nature getaway! We loved canoeing through the mangroves, exploring waterfalls, and swimming at the hotel’s private beach. Firefly watching was an absolute highlight. Staff care and hospitality are the best, making us feel completely looked after. We visited during August rainy season, which was still plenty of fun, though there is even more to see- like big waterfalls- in winter from November to February. The food and drinks were fantastic, and we will definitely be back!

Canvas and Orchids is unique, peaceful, and in a beautiful setting. The staff are welcoming and well-trained, and we loved that people are hired from the local communities. The rooms are spacious, clean, and include nice touches. There are many fans but there is not AC, which makes sense but could be a surprise. Even on a very hot day it cools down at night. We enjoyed the trip to the waterfalls, the sunset boat trip, and the mangroves (prepare to get muddy). This is a special opportunity.

Really memorable stay at Canvas and Orchids. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. It was wonderful to hear about the story of the resort and the community they support. Paulo, Ravy, Bona and the team were great hosts and made us feel very safe. The food was all fantastic and freshly prepared, including the lunch on the waterfall trip. We enjoyed the morning coffee and cookie the team left out each morning while watching the sunrise. We would definitely return.

Very great place to escape the hectic city lifestyle for rejuvenating your getaway holiday. Room n facility wise, it's not as luxurious as you would expect (such as no aircon) but good to take a deep n long sleep with comfy bed. Service n hospitality are great except the boat service could have been a bit improved more. Naturewise n location wise are breathtaking. Overall, totally recommended this place if you are nature lover.

Cafés & bakeries 88.7 km 4.2/5 on Google

Blue cafe is 88.7 km east of Canvas & Orchids Retreat — a short ride rather than a walk.

Blue cafe is a small restaurant located in Choam, Chi Phat, offering casual dining in a modest setting. It serves as a neighbourhood spot where locals gather, and the menu is reasonably priced. The compact size means it maintains an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere rather than catering to large groups or formal occasions.

Visitors consistently describe the place as straightforward and good value. Reviewers mention that it caters well to local tastes and habits, with pricing that won't strain a budget. The feedback is generally positive though expressed in measured terms rather than enthusiastic praise — most comments fall in the "ok" to "good" range, suggesting it delivers what you'd expect from a neighbourhood cafe without particular surprises.

This is the kind of place to visit if you're comfortable with simple, casual dining and want to eat where local people do. Given its size, it works better for individuals or small groups than large parties. There's no information about opening hours or specific menu items, so it's worth asking locals for current details when you arrive in Chi Phat, particularly if you have dietary requirements or are visiting during off-peak times.
