Cambana Poipet Hotel is a hotel in Poipet, Cambodia, close to the main areas of town. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, with enough space for three guests, and some are large enough to hold two queen-sized beds plus a small sitting area. Rooms include air conditioning, a small fridge, and a private bathroom; some bathrooms are large and have a bathtub.
Breakfast is included with the room. The hotel also has a restaurant on site, though menu prices run higher than is typical for the province, with most dishes costing $4 and up. Registration at the front desk is straightforward, and the property is easy to find on arrival.

Good to know
Breakfast is included with the room. Registration at the front desk is reported as smooth. Bookings are non-refundable, and the hotel has declined refunds or partial adjustments in cases where guests could not reach Poipet for reasons outside their control.
I had a confirmed booking at this hotel but was unable to reach it due to a police operation, refusing foreigners to travel to Poipet - the bus operator reported the issue and provided a full refund of the also pre-booked bus ticket.
Unfortunately, the hotel refused any refund or even partial adjustment, despite the situation being clearly beyond my control. I understand non-refundable policies, but completely ignoring exceptional circumstances and offering zero flexibility in the event of force majeure feels unfair and not customer-oriented.
For reference, booking platforms (thanks Trip.com) sometimes step in to help in such cases, which says a lot about the situation. The hotel itself may be fine, but this unlucky experience of mine shows just how they prefer to handle problems.
Review: Cambana Poipet Hotel
My overall experience at Cambana Poipet Hotel was enjoyable during my 4-day, 3-night stay. The room was spacious enough for three people, and I felt completely safe—no haunted vibes at all! The bathroom was also large and featured a nice bathtub, which added to the comfort. The air conditioning was cold and powerful, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring.
The service from the hotel staff was great, and I appreciated that breakfast was included. However, the menu prices were a bit on the higher side for the province, with most dishes costing $4 and up.
The location of the hotel is superb, right in the city center, making it convenient for exploring nearby attractions. I highly recommend Cambana Poipet Hotel for its comfort, service, and great location. Overall, I would give it an 8/10!
Excellent location close to the main areas of town. Rooms are spacious and well equipped.
A/C can be a bit noisy. Low speed helps.
Cleaning of the floor can be better.
Restaurant is fair.
The rooms are modern and clean and the beds comfy, but the hotel is located right next door to a pub and the music is so loud that you will not be able to sleep until it has finished at sometime around 3am on the Saturday we were there.
It's a shame as this is a nice hotel otherwise.
Positive:
- it’s a hotel and you have a bed to sleep
- staff were friendly
- lobby was very nice
Negative:
- our room was absolutely not worth the money. We booked a family room and on their website they sell it for 170 USD per night.
- the hotel has walls thin as paper, the windows are not sound proof and therefore you here every single sound from outside. Dogs barking the whole night and a pub with drunken and screaming people directly next to it. Absolutely not adequate for children
- you hear the noice from the room above extremely loud
- our room had lower ceiling. My husband could not walk properly (European size)
- there very many mosquitoes, we all got many many mosquito bites during the night and ended up sleeping in our jackets
- there is a lot of dust and dirt in the room. Our feet were black after walking barefoot in the room
Overall we felt massively let down and would not recommend it with children at all. I have pictures for all the points above but do not want to post them. I do not write this to be against the hotel but to protect families. If you do have questions feel free to contact.
