OMG, there is very bad experience in my travel life, I travel so many country & staying so many hotel but This Baray Angkor guesthouse was given me very very low quality services. Room condition very bad, cockroaches & ants whole over the room. AC is not good, take more time for coolness the room. toilet is very small & there is no mirror. there is a basin but which is just above the pan, & under the basin there is no connecting pipe, so when you open the tap, fall the water over your leg & foot. there is no slippers & basket. when I ask than they give me soap & toothbrush. after 11.00pm gate is closed. after knocking a lady open the gate.
next day early morning at 7.30 am I go infront of reception for my complementary breakfast , but there is no one. two middle age woman I found behind the reception room. I ask them but they don't response. after 30min I again ask than she told me receptionist will come at 10.00 am, now she was sleeping on top floor. I wait till 9.00am than I go back my room. after 11 am I go to reception for key drop because I went to outside. then I complained. that time she give me breakfast. During breakfast I told her tomorrow I will checkout 6.30 am because my flight is 9.35am. so can you ready my breakfast at 6.00 am. Receptionist said me... yes. she can. Than I go to outside.
next day at 6.10am I come to reception but as usual there is no one. but that 2 middle age lady sleeping on floor of lobby. I called her, she wake up & open the gate & again
Just to clarify, ALL of Phnom phen is a giant sh*thole. This place just matches its vicinity. Smack in the middle of filthy, loud street, the stench and griminess hits you as soon as you walk in. I thought I'd seen the worst of southeast Asia thruout Thailand, but I was wrong. Cambodia is waaaay worse. Do yourselves a favor and stat away from this wretched city. Better yet, spend your money in a nice, western country and totally bypass this petri dish of a continent!
