We loved this lovely little boutique hotel. Rooms are nice with good air con , and ours had a view of the pool. We loved cooling down in the pool after busy days. It’s only small ( 6 sun beds) but we generally had the pool to ourselves for all the time we used it. We also loved the refreshing welcome drink , cold towel and fruit on check in. Expect some niggles service wise. For example, on check out I politely requested assistance taking our luggage down the stairs ( there is no lift) but the receptionist didnt have a clue what i was talking about despite me attempting a few different ways to ask. This was surprising and there were a few other examples of service stutters. Nevertheless, for the price we paid ( approx £27 per room per night ) , this is great value , and its location is absolutely spot on - just a few minutes away from the night markets and the Hard Rock Cafe.

Can't say enough good about the people who work here. They are very kind and helpful. I wanted to do something special for my wive so they coordinated a city wide tuk tuk ride with a bottle of wine for me. The rooms are clean, spacious, and quite. The hotel is located just out of the main city noise, so it's a bit private but still in walking distance to most everything. If I'm back in the area, this will be my go to place.

The main highlights of this beautiful place is caring personnel, who truly creates the atmosphere and makes staying so special. They are hospitable and just a pleasant team overall, ready to help at any time: whether with check-in, tours, tuk-tuk taxi. You will be welcomed with refreshing drink upon arrival which is a wonderful touch after traveling. The hotel is located on 27th Street, which is a highly convenient spot. The surrounding area is incredibly well-developed: everything is within walking distance on the neighboring streets: restaurants, supermarkets, and good spots for breakfast. The riverfront is of few metres, perfect for evening stroll. Old and Night Markets, Pub Street can easily be reached by walk. Hotel that wins you over with guests' care perfect location and good price-quality ratio. I would absolutely love to stay here again!

I had a really great stay at Apsara Residence Hotel. The value for money was amazing. I was a bit hesitant at first because the price was so cheap, but it ended up exceeding expectations. It’s honestly one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at, and the service went above and beyond. The staff were the highlight, they welcomed us with cold towels after a hot day, always greeted us with smiles, helped with any questions, and even made reservations for us when needed. The room was spacious and clean, the pool was great to relax in after a long day out, and the laundry service was cheap and smelled incredible. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH.

Cafés & bakeries 31 m 1 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

The muffin man, Siem Reap is 31 m south-east of Apsara Residence Hotel — about 1 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Apsara Residence Hotel are Dialogue (86 m) and The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe (438 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A café on Wat Bo Road offering a wide selection of muffins, cakes and cheesecakes alongside a proper breakfast and lunch menu that includes salads, toasties and vegetable-based dishes. Coffee is made in an Australian style, and matcha and other drinks are also on offer. The interior is described as modern and calm, suited to sitting in for a while rather than a quick takeaway stop.

Visitors consistently mention the quality and freshness of the baked goods, with muffins, brownies and cheesecakes coming up again and again as standouts, alongside savoury options like lentil salad, vegetable stacks and chickpea fritters that cater well to vegetarian and vegan diets. The coffee draws particular praise for its quality. Portion sizes are called generous and prices reasonable, and staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive. No notable complaints or caveats appear in the reviews, and several visitors mention returning multiple times during their stay.

Open daily from 7am to 10pm, it works equally well for an early breakfast, a working lunch or a dessert stop after dinner, as one visitor used it. The range of vegetarian and vegan dishes makes it a reliable option for travellers with dietary preferences, while the mix of light meals and pastries suits anyone wanting more than just coffee. Given its popularity, arriving outside peak breakfast or lunch hours may mean an easier time finding a seat.

Bars 74 m 1 min walk 4.6/5 on Google

Laundry Bar is 74 m north-east of Apsara Residence Hotel — about 1 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from Apsara Residence Hotel are Barcode Bar Siem Reap (234 m) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (419 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Laundry Bar is a casual bar on Street 26 in Siem Reap with pool tables, a counter serving craft beers and cocktails, and a simple food menu. The space has the feel of a neighbourhood drinking spot rather than a tourist venue, though it draws visitors from across the world. It opens from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily and is known particularly for Wednesday nights, when open-mic performances bring live music to the bar.

Visitors consistently praise the social atmosphere and the mix of people you can meet there—solo travellers often mention it as an easy place to strike up conversations with expats and locals. Pool games are a draw, and those who attend Wednesday's open-mic night tend to be enthusiastic about the music and talent on display. Reviewers highlight the craft beer selection and cocktail quality. One note: some visitors report limited drink variety and have found the venue's responsiveness to orders inconsistent on quieter nights. Non-drinkers may find the mocktail selection thin.

The bar suits anyone looking for a low-key evening with other travellers and a chance to play pool or listen to live music. Wednesday is the night to go if you want a fuller room and live performances. Arrive after 4 p.m. It works best if you're prepared to order drinks readily and engage with the crowd; it is less ideal if you prefer a quieter table experience or need a wide range of non-alcoholic options.

Dialogue

Cafés & bakeries 86 m 1 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

Dialogue is 86 m east of Apsara Residence Hotel — about 1 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Apsara Residence Hotel are The muffin man, Siem Reap (31 m) and The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe (438 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Dialogue is a cafe on Street 27 in Siem Reap with both indoor and rooftop seating. The menu mixes western and Asian cuisines, anchored by a strong coffee program. Visitors report the espresso and lattes are among the best in town. The kitchen turns out standout dishes like fried rice and tenderloins, though some guests found other items unremarkable. Breakfast options include variations on eggs — one visitor had English muffin with poached eggs, hollandaise and bacon — though the cafe does not offer a full traditional English breakfast.

Staff are consistently praised as helpful and friendly, though there is a notable caveat. One guest mentioned that despite requesting it multiple times, their dishes arrived with bean sprouts despite a stated allergy, which raised concern for anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies. The kitchen's attention to special requests appears inconsistent. On the upside, visitors note the carbonara is rich and satisfying if you enjoy heavy sauces, though it may not suit lighter preferences.

The rooftop setting is described as chill and atmospheric, with indoor seating available too. Dialogue opens daily at 7 AM and stays open until midnight (closed Sundays), making it accessible for breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch or evening visits. Happy hour pricing makes it affordable. The location sits walking distance from Pub Street, though the daytime frontage can be hard to spot from the street — it sits on the corner of Street 26 and Wat Bo Road. This works well for anyone after reliable coffee and a casual meal, though diners with food allergies should verify orders carefully with staff.

Parks & nature 188 m 2 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

Kulen Elephant Forest is 188 m east of Apsara Residence Hotel — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “parks & nature”.

The next two places under “parks & nature” from Apsara Residence Hotel are Royal Independence Gardens (1.1 km) and Flying Foxes (1.1 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Kulen Elephant Forest is an elephant retirement sanctuary set within a forested park outside Siem Reap, where a small number of elephants live out their later years in a natural setting rather than performing or giving rides. Visitors join a guided tour through the forest, observing and, in many cases, getting close to the elephants as they roam, bathe or feed, with mahouts and staff on hand to explain each animal's background. Lunch is included as part of the day, and transport to and from the centre is arranged for guests.

Reviews are strikingly consistent: guests repeatedly praise the guides by name, describing them as knowledgeable, funny and clearly attached to the elephants, and several mention that the mahouts treat the animals like family. The focus on retirement and rehabilitation rather than entertainment comes up often, as does the sense that the operation supports both the elephants' welfare and the local community. The pacing of the tour is mentioned favourably, with breaks built in, and food is called a highlight rather than an afterthought. The one practical caveat raised is accessibility: the terrain is not well suited to wheelchairs.

The park opens daily from 8am to 6pm, and given the nature of the visit — walking through forest terrain to spend time near the elephants — it works best for travellers who are reasonably mobile and interested in conservation rather than a quick photo stop. Families with older children and couples looking for a slower, more reflective wildlife encounter seem well suited to it, and booking a guided tour rather than turning up independently appears to be the standard way to visit.

Old Market Bridge

Sights 213 m 3 min walk 4.4/5 on Google

Old Market Bridge is 213 m west of Apsara Residence Hotel — about 3 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Apsara Residence Hotel are Pub Street (369 m) and The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor (641 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

This pedestrian bridge stands at the heart of Siem Reap's riverfront district, adjacent to the Old Market and offering direct access to the surrounding riverbank. The bridge itself is modest in structure but serves as a hub for the evening economy—restaurants, food stalls, and small shops line the water's edge, and the area is lit in the evenings. From the bridge you can see neighboring structures including an art bridge nearby, and the wider riverside promenade allows for a walking loop through the commercial quarter.

Visitors consistently highlight the bridge as an evening destination rather than a daytime sight. The riverside atmosphere at night draws particular praise, with the decorative lighting and restaurant activity creating what guests describe as lively surroundings. The food stalls serve local street dishes and fresh produce, though multiple visitors note that bargaining skill is expected if you plan to purchase. A practical caveat appears in several reviews: the bridge handles vehicle traffic, so caution is needed when walking, particularly if focusing on photographs.

The bridge suits anyone exploring downtown Siem Reap in the evening or hunting for local food experiences. It's open around the clock, so there's no timing restriction, though the atmosphere is most active after dark. The location is central enough that most visitors exploring the city center will encounter it organically. The nearby Old Market offers conventional shopping but requires negotiation; the bridge and riverside are better for casual browsing and eating without the same pressure to transact.

Barcode Bar is a drag show venue in Siem Reap's Mondul 1 Village that runs performances nightly from 9 pm. The bar seats guests for a three-hour show featuring performers in elaborate costumes. Visitors describe a casual, welcoming space with air conditioning and a mix of seating, from main tables to spots available on busier nights. The atmosphere draws both tourists passing through and repeat visitors to the city.

Guests consistently praise the quality and energy of the performances, with multiple reviews highlighting the entertainers' costumes and engaging stage presence. The staff and performers are frequently mentioned as warm and approachable—several visitors note that performers remember guests from previous nights and interact with the crowd after acts. The three-hour show format draws praise for its sustained energy. Atmospherically, reviews describe the crowd as lively and welcoming, particularly later in the evening on weekends, though Sunday nights are reportedly quieter than Saturday. The bar stocks drinks that visitors describe as good, though specifics are not detailed in guest feedback.

The venue opens at 8 pm Tuesday through Sunday, with shows beginning at 9 pm and running until around midnight or later. It's closed Mondays. The location in Mondul 1 Village is accessible but not in central Siem Reap's main tourist strip. The three-hour show length and late-night hours make it suitable for visitors planning an evening out rather than a quick drink, and guests mention it as family-friendly for teenagers. Arriving early on weekends ensures better seat options.

Pub Street is 369 m west of Apsara Residence Hotel — about 5 minutes on foot. Of the 5 places under “sights” within a kilometre of the hotel, this is the best rated.

The next two places under “sights” from Apsara Residence Hotel are Old Market Bridge (213 m) and The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor (641 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Pub Street is the main entertainment hub in central Siem Reap, a vehicle-free street lined with bars, clubs, restaurants, and food stalls. The strip fills with lights and music at night and operates around the clock, drawing both tourists and locals. Nearby is a night market offering additional food and shopping options. Visitors can expect everything from dance clubs and cocktail bars to casual seating areas and street food vendors.

Guests consistently praise the atmosphere and value. The street is energetic and social—people mention it as ideal for meeting other travellers and relaxing after temple visits, with an upbeat vibe comparable to entertainment districts in New Orleans or Nashville. Beer prices are notably cheap, with some visitors citing beers around 0.75 USD, and happy hour deals are common. Food options span many cuisines with reasonable pricing. The main caveat is the noise level; music is loud throughout the street, which some find exciting and others find overwhelming. Locals are reported as friendly and willing to chat.

The street works best as an evening and late-night destination after a day of sightseeing. It suits travellers seeking nightlife, casual dining, and a social atmosphere rather than a quiet experience. It is busiest after dark and operates continuously, so timing is flexible. Those sensitive to noise or seeking a more subdued evening should consider elsewhere in the city, though the street remains functional and welcoming throughout its hours.

Mesa - Restaurant is 397 m west of Apsara Residence Hotel — about 5 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Apsara Residence Hotel are Wild (424 m) and Fellini Siem Reap (461 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Mesa sits right on Pub Street in Siem Reap, serving Cambodian food to a steady stream of visitors from late morning until midnight, seven days a week. The menu runs through familiar Khmer dishes alongside more adventurous options, from sweet and sour chicken stir fry and beef cheeks to roasted duck with curry and, for the curious, crocodile meat served in small tasting portions before you commit to a full order. Meals typically arrive with small extras that guests did not order but remember afterward — lemongrass or pomegranate tea, watermelon with dried fish flakes, banana chips, or a Cambodian pumpkin dessert offered on the house.

Reviewers return again and again to the service rather than any single dish, naming individual waitstaff who explained menus, steered orders around allergies, and suggested tasters for unfamiliar items like crocodile. Despite the Pub Street location, several guests specifically note that it did not feel like a tourist trap, crediting genuine attentiveness over a scripted routine. The one recurring caveat comes from diners less familiar with Cambodian cuisine, who rated the food itself a notch below the service — a reminder that this is a kitchen rooted in local flavors rather than international crowd-pleasing.

Given the location and the volume of praise, expect a lively, touristy stretch of street outside and a fairly full house inside, so evenings may mean a short wait despite the long opening hours. It suits travelers who want an introduction to Khmer dishes with guidance from the staff rather than a self-service buffet approach, and those who value being looked after as much as what lands on the table. Groups and diners with allergies or dietary restrictions appear well accommodated based on repeated mentions.
