We stayed at the Ambre Kampot Hotel and highly recommend it. In addition to being stunning and having very kind, professional, and helpful staff, this hotel offers a multitude of activities. We had the opportunity to enjoy a complete experience centered around durian and loved learning more about this fruit. We had the privilege of visiting a farm and chatting with the farmer before enjoying a tasting on-site. We also took a cooking class with the hotel's chef to learn how to prepare this fruit and then enjoyed a complete meal. It was delicious, by the way. We are delighted to have participated in this experience and highly recommend it.

Best in town, simply. You can see it from the other side of the river the resort is special. Arrival amongst the trees, diving in a natural and relaxing atmosphere. Individual villa with private pool, excellent and premium service from the team. Everything to relax and have fun. Jet sky to book, paddle board, kayak with direct access to the river. We also enjoyed the spa, and restaurant.

We spent three nights at the Amber Kampot Hotel and highly recommend staying there if you're visiting Kampot. The hotel is stunning with a beautiful view of the river. The rooms are very spacious and magnificent. We received a very warm welcome from all the staff, who were incredibly attentive, professional, and helpful, and provided us with excellent information about local activities. They were also very helpful in arranging scooter rentals. At Amber, you'll find a wide range of activities, excellent dining options, and convenient transportation to ensure a wonderful holiday for couples or families. We will gladly return. Our stay at this hotel was exceptional in every respect. Positioned in the upper segment, it offers outstanding value for money and delivers an experience that easily matches — and often surpasses — many comparable properties.
The hotel stands out for its strong design focus. The architecture, interiors, and overall aesthetic are thoughtfully curated, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and welcoming. It feels refined without ever becoming pretentious.
What truly elevates the experience, however, is the personal level of service. The General Manager was present and took the time to speak with us, which added a genuine and personal touch that is increasingly rare in larger luxury hotels. The same can be said for the incredibly personable F&B Manager, whose warmth and professionalism were evident throughout our stay.
The restaurant deserves special recognition. The quality of the cuisine is excellent, and the service team is attentive, highly trained, and clearly committed to providing a top-tier dining experience. Every meal felt carefully executed and thoughtfully presented.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would return without hesitation.
It is also difficult to understand why so many travelers cancelled their trips to Cambodia in January 2026. The political tensions with Thailand have subsided, the border is extremely far away, and daily life here feels calm and safe. Great relaxing and elegant hotel in Kampot. The rooms are big and nice. The infinity pool overlooks the river and is clean. The restaurant is great! Lunch and dinner are the same menus. We got all the chicken dishes and they even let us get the fish pasta with chicken instead so they are accommodating. Good portion sizes. The vegetable cake with sweet potatoes was so good. The bread comes with pepper butter from Kampot which is great. Breakfast is to order. Egg white omelette, quinoa salad with soy milk and fruit and avocado. Chicken noodles. Fruit platter. Pancakes are great. The sesame balls are delicious too. The service of everyone is some of the best service. They are always ready to help with anything. They deliver sweet treats every night which is a nice touch. It was very quiet when we went only a few other guests. The gym is small but it’s a small resort so it’s ok, you just need to turn on the ac 5 mins before you want to work out but it cools quickly. They are very responsive on WhatsApp. They can arrange a driver to and from airport and to the pepper farm too. Highly recommend this place!
