About The White Palace Hotel &Resort

The White Palace Hotel &Resort is a hotel in Poipet, Cambodia, in the Banteay Meanchey area. It opened around a year before the most recent guest reports, and the building and grounds still read as new. A pool sits at the centre of the property, with a pool team working on it regularly, and some rooms open directly onto the pool area — you can step out of your door and be at the water. Other rooms, including one- and two-bed configurations, are set at the back of the property away from the pool view.

Rooms are kept clean, and the cleaning crew and wider staff are a consistent part of what guests notice. Practical in-room provision is basic rather than resort-standard: there is no telephone in the room, so requests mean a walk to the lobby, and hot water can take around fifteen minutes to run warm. Breakfast is not served and there is no delivery service to the rooms.

The best place for staying at Banteay Meanchey. Very clean and great surrounding amosphere. You can choose the room in front of the pool area, just leave the door and you arrive at the pool.

Has ghost haunted at room 1-2bed at the back, not the room pool view. According to my experience. The item in room are loudly and missing some pieces like towel… and the bathroom floor are slippery.

Not sure if I stayed at the same hotel that got 5/5 ratings. If you call yourself a luxury resort, you should at least have normal rolls of toilet papers, (not that flimsy tissues-like ones) hand soaps, and slippers for taking showers. We had to wear our flip flops in the showers for fear of falling on that slippery floor and cracked our heads open. Yes, this hotel looks new, clean, and nice now; staff were very friendly, the cleaning crew, pool guy constantly out there working hard. This hotel was only opened for about a year and already there's signs of wear and tear; bathroom door won't closed all the way, walls already worn and torn, sidewalks in front uneven and cracked. We only stayed here because there wasn't much options while visiting our relatives nearby. For the amount we paid for each night, this hotel is more expensive than the 4-star hotels we stayed in Siem Reap, and those comes with free breakfast also; this one does not. It would be helpful if your list of instructions were also in English, Cambodian people are not the only guests staying at this hotel. English is my first language; I still can read and write a little bit in Khmer, but the majority of people does not. And on a side note, only tip the maids directly if you see them. Otherwise when you checked out, the front desk people will just use your key cards to grab that cash before the maids get to it. I've seen this happened multiples times in different hotels while vacationing in Cambodia.

Definitely NOT a luxury hotel. Selected this given the close proximity to my relatives’ home, but location is not in the center of the town and they charge $39 a night compared to about $20 at Nasa in town. Hot water took about 15 mins to become hot. No phone in the room so had to walk outside to the lobby for help. No breakfast and no service delivery — if you don’t have a car, forget about it. Would not recommend this for foreigners traveling and recommend staying in town instead. Definitely not worth paying double.

The café operates from early morning through mid-afternoon, making it accessible for those passing through town rather than a destination for evening visits.

Guests mention the coffee as a consistent draw, and the location near the road to Kondomri appears convenient for travellers in transit. Reviews are generally positive, though feedback remains limited enough that detailed accounts of the food menu or specific strengths are sparse. The café seems to serve its purpose as a functional stopping point rather than attracting visits for anything distinctive.

TUBE COFFEE Poipet

Cafés & bakeries 45.2 km 4.5/5 on Google

TUBE COFFEE Poipet is 45.2 km west of The White Palace Hotel &Resort — a short ride rather than a walk.

The other place under “cafés & bakeries” within reach of The White Palace Hotel &Resort is Phann Channrithy's Café Shop (34.0 km).

TUBE COFFEE Poipet is a local coffee shop on National Road 5 in central Poipet, set up to serve travellers passing through town and people making stops before heading to Sisophon, Siem Reap, or Battambang. The café offers standard coffee drinks—visitors consistently praise the coconut cream latte—in a cool, air-conditioned space with straightforward ordering and a large parking lot outside.

Visitors describe the staff as friendly and the drinks as good quality, with prices comparable to other Cambodian cafés rather than inflated for a border town. Several guests mention the golden hour atmosphere for an afternoon coffee break. One small note appears in reviews: the ordering system can be confusing, with order numbers that may not match the sequence in which drinks are called. There is only one washroom, which may matter if you arrive during busy periods. The place appears to be part of a wider TUBE COFFEE chain operating in Cambodia.

The café opens at 6:30 AM on weekdays through Saturday and stays open until 10 PM, making it useful as an early morning stop or afternoon break for people on the road. The large car park means you can pull in easily if you are travelling by vehicle. It suits anyone needing a reliable coffee stop in Poipet rather than a destination in itself, though several returning visitors seem to view it as a pleasant local improvement to the town's café scene.

Beach Bar@ Zone3 is 46.1 km west of The White Palace Hotel &Resort — a short ride rather than a walk.

Beach Bar@ Zone3 is a 24-hour venue in Poipet that combines a bar with dining and recreational space. The setting includes photo-friendly areas throughout the grounds, and the venue operates a night market alongside its main bar and buffet service. Visitors arrive at a gated entrance where staff control access.

Guests consistently report fair pricing and a relaxed atmosphere suited to afternoon and evening hangouts that can stretch past midnight. Food quality and service receive positive mentions from repeat visitors. However, access has been a point of friction—several guests report being turned away at the gate by security despite wanting to enter, which has created frustration for would-be visitors. One visitor noted that kids' pricing at the Saikoku buffet could be more generous.

The bar operates around the clock every day of the week, making it accessible whenever you want to visit. Arrive with realistic expectations about door policy, as security decisions appear inconsistent or unclear. It suits groups and families looking for a casual evening out with food and drinks at moderate prices, provided gate entry goes smoothly.
