My favourite place to stay! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The bungalows are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The family makes delicious food and can cater for vegetarians/vegans. (Request for dinner) This is a peaceful area less than a 10 minute drive from the busy Banlung town with fresh air and a wonderful garden 🪴 Sart (man of house) offers jungle treks with much information along the route, including interesting facts on indigenous plants and much more! In his free time, he teaches free English lessons to the local children. This is an honest man with a kind heart. 10/10 would recommend to anybody staying in the Ratanakiri area :) You’re welcome x

Really enjoyed my stay for 4 nights at this incredible Farmstay. Wow what an amazing place to stay , From the moment I walked in this Sart and his family were so kind and helpful. Going above and beyond to help in every way. Chalet/hut was clean and comfortable, bed with hammock out front and mosquito nets over the bed(although not manymosquito)a kettle and coffee .They showed me around the garden talking about all the wonderful local fruit he grows and explained how his mushroom farm operates. Felt like he wanted to make us feel at home. Such a beautiful property that is very peaceful and well maintained. A truly authentic experience spending time here, sharing knowledge about the Cambodian culture and spending time with their daughter was very special.I Felt like a home away from home especially when sitting down for food and socialising. Such a beautiful property that is very peaceful and clean with friendly quiet dogs. A truly authentic experience spending time here, Sart is very friendly and easy going and teaches English everyday to the local children which I had fun taking part in the class. He also rented us a scooter and told us where we could go plus arranged a bus for our onward travel.

This place is a gorgeous place with little spacious chalets with comfy beds, mosquito nets good fans , bathrooms with hot shower All for a really cheap price The owner Sart Un is a fantastic host , his wife is a wonderful cook and their meals are healthy and plentiful! Most people go trekking and this is a must not miss! You get a tuk tuk ride up to the river then a boat ride then you trek through beautiful countryside and woods to a waterfall where the guides cook you a meal in bamboo over a fire, it was delicious!

Sart welcomed us with open arms and an open heart. His bungalows are simple, clean and well designed with everything you need. He took us on a very enlightening 2-day trek in the jungle, always showing a true willingness to share his deep knowledge of the forest, the Khmer and minority cultures. Couldn't recommend enough! We wish you and your family the best Sart! Lucas & Marine

Katieng Waterfall is 6.1 km south of Ratanakiri FarmHouse and Trekking — a short ride rather than a walk.

Katieng Waterfall is a cascade in the countryside near Banlung, set within a small park that remains quieter than other waterfalls in the region. Visitors find a tiered drop with a cave running in a crescent shape beneath it, accessible by a steep trail with old stairs and slippery rocks. A heart-shaped lookout point serves as a photo spot. The base of the falls holds a pool deep enough for swimming, and a cave area provides shelter to rest and cool off.

The waterfall attracts consistent praise for its natural appeal and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors emphasize how deserted it feels compared to busier local attractions, and many mention the pleasant experience of swimming in the pool or exploring the cave underneath the cascade. The park charges a nominal entry fee (reported as one dollar for foreigners) and vendors nearby sell refreshments including sugarcane juice. A note of caution appears in reviews about the slippery rocks and uneven terrain—the trail requires careful footing, and at least one visitor raised concerns about potential snakes. The waterfall location is also home to an elephant trek operated by local handlers; opinions on this activity vary, with some visitors noting the elephants are chained but have forest space to roam.

The site is accessible year-round with no specific opening hours restrictions. Plan for roughly 30 to 45 minutes travel from Banlung city centre, though roads can be confusing and mobile signal is unreliable in the area. Asking locals for directions is advisable if uncertain. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip for the rocky terrain and bring a change of clothes if you intend to swim. It suits visitors seeking a quiet natural setting away from crowded attractions, though those uncomfortable with wet and uneven surfaces should consider the physical demands before visiting.
