Chhorvivorn Guest House

Maly Restaurant is 217.2 km south-east of Chhorvivorn Guest House — a short ride rather than a walk.

Maly Restaurant sits on Highway 11 in Mukh Kampul, Prey Veng, positioning itself as a stopover point for travellers between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. The space operates from early morning through evening, serving Khmer dishes across breakfast and dinner service. The restaurant also stocks beer and cocktails, and maintains a small play area for children. Visitors report the dining space is bright and clean, with functioning toilet facilities outside.

The kitchen delivers consistent results with dishes like lemongrass soup, fried rice, and fried fish receiving particular mention. Portion sizes are generous and pricing is accessible—cocktails are advertised at $3.90 with promotion offers. Staff are described as friendly and attentive across multiple reviews. One caveat: a visitor reported that the welcome water led to stomach problems for their group later that evening, though this appeared as an isolated incident among the reviews provided. Another guest noted the availability of free tea.

The restaurant works well as a meal break during long road journeys, opening at 6am daily to catch early travellers. Its combination of Khmer food, reasonable prices, and maintained facilities makes it a practical choice for anyone passing through on the highway. The cocktail menu and evening atmosphere suggest it also functions as a casual dining spot for local evening traffic, though those with sensitive digestion may want to bring bottled water or ask about it specifically.

BROWN Roastery | BVM is 217.6 km south-east of Chhorvivorn Guest House — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Chhorvivorn Guest House are Artist Coffee (218.5 km) and Coffee Today PrekTamak (218.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

BROWN Roastery | BVM is a newly opened café in Prey Veng housed in a spacious, design-focused space decorated with indoor plants and natural elements. The café functions as a working flower shop alongside the coffee counter, with large windows and open white interiors creating an airy atmosphere. The venue opens daily from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM and serves as both a casual workspace and social gathering spot.

Visitors consistently praise the fresh aesthetic and welcoming environment, often noting the attentive service—one guest described staff following a customer outside to return a forgotten tumbler. Coffee quality is reported as consistent with the brand's other locations. The main reservation some guests mention is cooling capacity: despite five ceiling air-conditioning units visible throughout the space, several visitors found the interior struggled to reach comfortable temperatures during Cambodia's hotter midday hours. The abundant greenery and natural décor, while visually appealing, may contribute to this issue. One visitor initially felt the location's setting was less compelling than hoped, though the overall experience improved.

The café suits travellers seeking a comfortable place to work or rest, families wanting a low-key environment, and those who appreciate plant-filled interiors. Morning and evening hours are likely preferable during hot weather. The outside location in Mukh Kampul means it may feel removed from central town activity, which some visitors noted as a drawback if you're seeking a busier social scene.

Artist Coffee is 218.5 km south-east of Chhorvivorn Guest House — a short ride rather than a walk.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Chhorvivorn Guest House are BROWN Roastery | BVM (217.6 km) and Coffee Today PrekTamak (218.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Artist Coffee sits in Khsach Kandal, on the Prey Veng side of National Road 6A near Prek Ta Mek bridge. It is a small café where visitors come for coffee and a place to pause. The space is described as comfortable and relaxed, suited to spending a few minutes or longer with a drink.

The coffee is what draws people back. Visitors consistently praise both the taste and quality, noting it as genuinely good coffee that is harder to find outside larger towns. The atmosphere is comfortable and service receives positive mention. Prices are reasonable according to those who have visited. There are no significant complaints in available reviews, though as a small shop the expectations around scale and variety should be modest.

The café opens from 7 AM to 9 PM daily. It works best for those crossing the area who want real coffee rather than the standard café fare, or for anyone in Prey Veng looking for a quiet spot to sit. Reaching it requires crossing National Road 6A and navigating to the bridge area, so it is not on a main thoroughfare. Those expecting a large venue or extensive menu should look elsewhere, but visitors seeking quality coffee in a small, comfortable setting will find what they are after here.

Coffee Today PrekTamak is 218.5 km south-east of Chhorvivorn Guest House — a short ride rather than a walk.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Chhorvivorn Guest House are BROWN Roastery | BVM (217.6 km) and Artist Coffee (218.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Coffee Today PrekTamak is a café located within a gas station compound on Route 380 in Khsach Kandal, Prey Veng. The location serves coffee and typical café fare to passing travellers and locals. Its position inside the gas station makes it less immediately obvious than a standalone café, which some visitors find inconvenient when first looking for it.

Visitors who know the spot tend to return, particularly cyclists and those passing through the area regularly. Staff are generally described as welcoming, though service consistency appears variable—some guests report friendly interactions while others have noted that service fell short of expectations. Coffee quality receives mixed feedback; while the café trades on an established brand name, at least one visitor found their cappuccino unsatisfactory on a recent visit. Overall impressions from those who stop by range from positive to lukewarm.

The café opens daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, making it accessible for both morning coffee and evening stops. It works best as a practical halt for those already at or near the gas station rather than a destination to seek out specifically. The hidden location within the compound means it suits regular passers-by and those with local knowledge better than first-time visitors unfamiliar with the area.

Blue Indigo Yoga Mindfulness Cambodia is 220.5 km south-east of Chhorvivorn Guest House — a short ride rather than a walk.

Blue Indigo Yoga Mindfulness Cambodia is a wellness retreat on the Mekong riverbank, about 40 minutes from Phnom Penh. The space centres on daily yoga and meditation sessions, sound baths, and quiet time in an artsy garden overlooking the river. Meals are vegetarian and home-prepared. There are quiet areas for reading and relaxation, and visitors can explore the local area around the retreat.

Guests consistently highlight the peaceful atmosphere and the quality of the teaching staff, particularly praising yoga instructors and meditation leaders by name. The food receives repeated positive mention for being both tasty and substantial. Visitors note the retreat attracts a community-minded group, and many describe meaningful connections with other guests during meals and group practices. The owners are described as genuinely welcoming and hands-on. The location itself—with river views and proximity to local culture—is frequently cited as a key draw. Reviews suggest the experience works at whatever pace suits you, whether intensive or slow.

The retreat operates daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., making it accessible for day visits or multi-day stays. It suits those seeking a genuine retreat experience rather than a resort-style spa, and works well for both yoga beginners and experienced practitioners. Most visitors report staying multiple nights rather than dropping in for a single session.
