I had a confirmed booking at this hotel but was unable to reach it due to a police operation, refusing foreigners to travel to Poipet - the bus operator reported the issue and provided a full refund of the also pre-booked bus ticket. Unfortunately, the hotel refused any refund or even partial adjustment, despite the situation being clearly beyond my control. I understand non-refundable policies, but completely ignoring exceptional circumstances and offering zero flexibility in the event of force majeure feels unfair and not customer-oriented. For reference, booking platforms (thanks Trip.com) sometimes step in to help in such cases, which says a lot about the situation. The hotel itself may be fine, but this unlucky experience of mine shows just how they prefer to handle problems.

Review: Cambana Poipet Hotel My overall experience at Cambana Poipet Hotel was enjoyable during my 4-day, 3-night stay. The room was spacious enough for three people, and I felt completely safe—no haunted vibes at all! The bathroom was also large and featured a nice bathtub, which added to the comfort. The air conditioning was cold and powerful, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The service from the hotel staff was great, and I appreciated that breakfast was included. However, the menu prices were a bit on the higher side for the province, with most dishes costing $4 and up. The location of the hotel is superb, right in the city center, making it convenient for exploring nearby attractions. I highly recommend Cambana Poipet Hotel for its comfort, service, and great location. Overall, I would give it an 8/10!

Excellent location close to the main areas of town. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. A/C can be a bit noisy. Low speed helps. Cleaning of the floor can be better. Restaurant is fair.

The rooms are modern and clean and the beds comfy, but the hotel is located right next door to a pub and the music is so loud that you will not be able to sleep until it has finished at sometime around 3am on the Saturday we were there. It's a shame as this is a nice hotel otherwise.

Positive: - it’s a hotel and you have a bed to sleep - staff were friendly - lobby was very nice Negative: - our room was absolutely not worth the money. We booked a family room and on their website they sell it for 170 USD per night. - the hotel has walls thin as paper, the windows are not sound proof and therefore you here every single sound from outside. Dogs barking the whole night and a pub with drunken and screaming people directly next to it. Absolutely not adequate for children - you hear the noice from the room above extremely loud - our room had lower ceiling. My husband could not walk properly (European size) - there very many mosquitoes, we all got many many mosquito bites during the night and ended up sleeping in our jackets - there is a lot of dust and dirt in the room. Our feet were black after walking barefoot in the room Overall we felt massively let down and would not recommend it with children at all. I have pictures for all the points above but do not want to post them. I do not write this to be against the hotel but to protect families. If you do have questions feel free to contact.

Bars 1.0 km 13 min walk 4.3/5 on Google

Beach Bar@ Zone3 is 1.0 km south of Cambana Poipet Hotel — about 13 minutes on foot.

Beach Bar@ Zone3 is a 24-hour venue in Poipet that combines a bar with dining and recreational space. The setting includes photo-friendly areas throughout the grounds, and the venue operates a night market alongside its main bar and buffet service. Visitors arrive at a gated entrance where staff control access.

Guests consistently report fair pricing and a relaxed atmosphere suited to afternoon and evening hangouts that can stretch past midnight. Food quality and service receive positive mentions from repeat visitors. However, access has been a point of friction—several guests report being turned away at the gate by security despite wanting to enter, which has created frustration for would-be visitors. One visitor noted that kids' pricing at the Saikoku buffet could be more generous.

The bar operates around the clock every day of the week, making it accessible whenever you want to visit. Arrive with realistic expectations about door policy, as security decisions appear inconsistent or unclear. It suits groups and families looking for a casual evening out with food and drinks at moderate prices, provided gate entry goes smoothly.

TUBE COFFEE Poipet is 1.6 km south-east of Cambana Poipet Hotel — about 21 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The other place under “cafés & bakeries” within reach of Cambana Poipet Hotel is Phann Channrithy's Café Shop (12.6 km).

TUBE COFFEE Poipet is a local coffee shop on National Road 5 in central Poipet, set up to serve travellers passing through town and people making stops before heading to Sisophon, Siem Reap, or Battambang. The café offers standard coffee drinks—visitors consistently praise the coconut cream latte—in a cool, air-conditioned space with straightforward ordering and a large parking lot outside.

Visitors describe the staff as friendly and the drinks as good quality, with prices comparable to other Cambodian cafés rather than inflated for a border town. Several guests mention the golden hour atmosphere for an afternoon coffee break. One small note appears in reviews: the ordering system can be confusing, with order numbers that may not match the sequence in which drinks are called. There is only one washroom, which may matter if you arrive during busy periods. The place appears to be part of a wider TUBE COFFEE chain operating in Cambodia.

The café opens at 6:30 AM on weekdays through Saturday and stays open until 10 PM, making it useful as an early morning stop or afternoon break for people on the road. The large car park means you can pull in easily if you are travelling by vehicle. It suits anyone needing a reliable coffee stop in Poipet rather than a destination in itself, though several returning visitors seem to view it as a pleasant local improvement to the town's café scene.

It is open throughout the week and into late evening, making it accessible for different schedules. Because it doubles as a mart, it may feel less formal than a traditional restaurant setting.
