Hotels near Independence Park

Independence Park is a public green space in central Sihanoukville that serves as a common arrival point for cruise ship passengers, with a Starbucks and Burger King nearby on the opposite side of the road. The park itself offers open ground suitable for walking and jogging, with a pedestrian path connecting to Independence Beach approximately three kilometres away. The immediate surroundings are modest rather than manicured, and the park opens onto the city centre.

Visitors frequently mention the park as a practical stopping point rather than a destination in itself. Several note it works well for exercise and evening walks, which suggests the open layout and lighting are functional. The consistent caveat across reviews concerns tuk tuk operators and tour sellers who gather around visitors, particularly those arriving by shuttle bus from cruise terminals—this is something to expect rather than be surprised by. Some visitors mention the park showing signs of wear and accumulated litter, though opinions vary on how much this detracts from a visit.

The park is accessible twenty-four hours daily. If you are arriving via cruise ship, you will likely be dropped here by complimentary shuttle; the walk to Independence Beach is manageable on foot with a broken but present sidewalk, taking roughly forty-five minutes. It suits those wanting a quick stop to stretch their legs or jog, or travellers without transport looking for a connected route to the beach. Come prepared to decline persistent offers from tuk tuk drivers, and keep expectations modest—it functions best as a transit point or exercise spot rather than a scenic retreat.
