We had a full suite with two balconies, which was very unexpected and made the stay pleasant enough.
The staff were also helpful and attentive on the front desk and helped us book local transport. We liked that you can fill up water from the dispenser in reception.
We didn't like that the AC in the room is so noisy, it makes it hard to sleep. The finish on the whole suite was poor, especially in the bathroom.
We booked this because it was the only hotel with a gym, but it was unusable. There was no AC in the "gym" and in a tiny room with no ventilation it was unbearably hot. It also lacked a full range of weights. We ended up paying for a day pass at the gym down the road.
The location could be better, you need to get a tuk tuk into town, as the paths aren't walkable.
The hotel feels very stuffy and business like, there seemed to be conferences staying at the same time.
The Sky Bar was closed when we tried to use it.
Breakfast was OK on one day but then switched to being a buffet style and no one seemed to know what was going on.
To me not recommend. Here are the reasons. Air conditioner was not cool enough compare to room size. The Fridge smell so bad(like died mouse). The room smell stingy, not comfortable and a lot of ants. The elevator was too small to carry more people at the same time. The floor is not clean. I spent 55$ per night, but feel like staying in 15-20$ room.
Great staff very nice and helpful! This hotel must have seen better days! With old furnitures, mouldiness and bad smell starting by the elevator! Noisy farnyard next to the hotel… as usual! Absolete gym!
I had a pleasant stay at The Square Kampot Hotel. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The food was also good, with nice taste and quality. Overall, a good place to stay in Kampot. I would recommend this hotel.
The suite I had was a good size. However, upon arrival the AC in the bedroom was making a terrific noise. The hotel maintenance crew fixed it within 2 hours, which was good.
The breakfast buffet was disappointing as they had limited quantities of everything. Not enough for the amount of guests. Coffee was stone cold. Very disappointing.
There was a slight drain smell eminating from the bathroom.
The location was good. It was only about 3 km to the riverside where there was a good selection of restaurants.
Staff were friendly and responsive.
