We stayed at this resort for one night on the 15th of April. And aside from the receptionist, everything else was a disappointment. Our room, the diamond cabin, was so dusty and full of cobwebs. It felt like it was left for weeks and weeks without cleaning! There were dead bugs on the bed, and the bedsheets made us itchy. The lock for the door was plastic, and a bit crooked. With enough force, someone could easily force themselves into your room (if it was locked from outside). The restaurant service was very slow. Despite not having that many guests, the food still took around 50 minutes to come out. And there were a lot of things out of stock, sometimes they didn't even inform you until you've already waited for a good amount of time for it to come out. The only saving grace we had was really the view of the reservoir.

A peaceful resort with pristine lake and Mountain scenes in the region of Kampot - Takeo, not far from Phnom Penh. A great place for a weekend retreat. Should equip more bicycles and boats for tourists to go around. No allow for karaoke, so just sing by ourselves lol.

Wow, what an amazing little gem about an hour outside Phnom Penh. Beautiful view of the lake, with loads of life, fish, crabs, fresh water ferns that look like seaweed. And the flock of geese that live here are cool too. The rooms are modern, neat and clean, complete with a kettle and aircons. They are pet friendly too, we took our cat with, who was visited (taunted...lol) by the resident chickens and turkeys everyday. The restaurant overlooks the lake and the food is great. The staff are just amazing. You can have a little private bonfire on the water edge and watch the stars at night. A sunset boat rode for dinner is very romantic. Kayaking is just as beautiful! Sunrises are gorgeous as you look over the water at the perfect v made by the surrounding mountains right where the sun rises. There is a sunset hike available. The nearby Khmer village is friendly and authentic. We will definitely return for a second and third visit. Recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at "The Safari Resort" and it was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. From the moment we arrived,Their hospitality truly reflects the heart of Cambodia — kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. The villas are spacious, modern, and very private, making them perfect for both couples seeking romance and families wanting comfort. The design blends luxury with nature beautifully, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. For couples, the sunset views are magical — especially with a romantic floating dinner arranged by the Lake . For families, the resort offers plenty of activities. The dining experience was outstanding. The restaurants serve fresh, organic ingredients with a mix of Cambodian and international flavors. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a wide variety and made-to-order options. Overall, this resort offers a perfect balance of luxury, privacy, and family-friendly comfort. If you’re visiting Cambodia and looking for a premium this place is absolutely worth it.

Restaurants 93.2 km 4.0/5 on Google

Mahob Khhjom Restaurant is 93.2 km north-west of THE SAFARI — a short ride rather than a walk.

Mahob Khhjom Restaurant sits on National Route 44 in Takeo, offering Cambodian food in a casual setting. The restaurant operates from early morning through evening, opening at 6 AM most days and closing at 9 PM, which makes it accessible whether you're looking for breakfast or dinner.

Visitors consistently praise the food quality and value. Reviewers describe the dishes as tasty and delicious, and note that prices are affordable. The atmosphere draws repeated mention as friendly and pleasant, suggesting a welcoming environment for both solo diners and groups. With nine reviews and a solid rating, the place appears reliable for a straightforward meal, though the limited review volume means less detailed information about specific dishes or particular strengths compared to busier establishments.

The restaurant suits travellers passing through Takeo on Route 44 or those staying nearby who want a dependable local option without high prices. The long daily hours mean you're unlikely to find it closed, though it's worth confirming the Sunday closing time before planning a late meal at the end of the week. Go when you're genuinely hungry rather than looking for a dining destination, and expect genuine Cambodian food in an unpretentious space.
