Sky Kampot Resort&Pool

Phnom Kbal Romeas is 2.7 km east of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Sky Kampot Resort&Pool are Krong Kampot (4.2 km) and Kampot River beach (4.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Phnom Kbal Romeas is a small cave system in Tuek Chhou, near Kampot, that doubles as a rock climbing destination. Inside, visitors find fossilized ancient corals and passages that require some climbing and squeezing to navigate fully. The cave is free to enter, and multiple paths allow for independent exploration. A café sits across from the entrance, and climbing services operate from the site.

Visitors describe it as an underrated spot with moderate physical demands—neither too easy nor too demanding for casual explorers. Many recommend hiring a guide to understand the geological features and navigate the various routes; guides typically wait at the café and charge around $5 per person, though this may be negotiable. One visitor noted the guide service could be pushy, though others found the professionals from Climbodia helpful and not aggressive. Rock climbing can be arranged either online or by showing up at the site. Some visitors mention concerns about how rules are enforced by those operating the commercial services, despite signs against littering.

The cave works best for visitors with a moderate level of fitness who are comfortable with climbing and tight spaces. Daytime visits are practical since there are no fixed opening hours or admission fees. The site is reachable by motorbike from Kampot town; local shops near the entrance rent bicycles if you prefer two wheels. Given the cave's size and the number of paths, a guide adds value, particularly if you want to understand what you're seeing rather than simply exploring.

Trapeang Sangkae Fishery Community is 3.2 km south-east of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool — a short ride rather than a walk.

Trapeang Sangkae Fishery Community is a working fishing village near Kampot built around mangrove forests and a calm river. Visitors come primarily for boat tours through the mangroves, which cost around $15 per boat and are operated by local community members. The site also offers simple overnight accommodation—small bungalows and tent pitches—and a space where guests can prepare their own barbecue. The setting is a working landscape rather than a manicured park: you're moving through an active community while experiencing the natural environment.

Visitors consistently praise the welcoming nature of local people and the peaceful atmosphere of the mangrove area. The boat tours receive particular mention for being well-run and good value. Those who stayed overnight noted that the bungalows offer views suitable for sunset watching, and mentioned opportunities to catch clams and cockles by hand during certain tidal conditions, though this activity depends on water levels and season. The experience appeals most to those looking to support a community initiative while spending time in nature, rather than those seeking developed attractions.

The site is open around the clock. Water levels vary seasonally—higher during rain, which changes what activities are possible—so timing affects what you'll see and do. It suits visitors interested in mangrove ecosystems and community-based tourism, and families wanting a low-key overnight retreat within reach of Kampot town. Bring your own food if planning to eat there, or check what's available locally beforehand.

Epic Arts Café is 4.0 km west of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Sky Kampot Resort&Pool are The Bookshop, Kampot (4.3 km) and Douceurs de Kampot (4.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Epic Arts Café sits in Kampot's Sangkat Kampong Kandal area, open daily from 7am to 6pm. It is a café with a purpose: run as a social enterprise, it provides employment and training for people with disabilities, and this ethos shapes the whole experience, from an order form system at the tables to a menu of fresh, house-made food. Visitors mention paninis, bruschetta, bagels made in house, a BLT, and a carrot cake that comes up often enough to count as a house favourite, alongside cheesecake and coffee.

Reviews are consistently warm, with guests returning day after day during their stay in Kampot. The recurring themes are freshness, generous or fair portions, and a calm, unhurried atmosphere. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, attentive and well organised, and several visitors note that knowing their spending supports training and job opportunities for people with disabilities in Kampot adds a sense of purpose to an otherwise ordinary breakfast or lunch stop. No complaints or caveats surface in the feedback, which reads as unusually settled for a café of this size.

It works well for breakfast or a relaxed lunch rather than an evening visit, given the daytime hours. The order-form style of service means it is worth taking a moment to look over the menu rather than expecting table service in a rush. It suits travellers who want a quiet, dependable spot to return to more than once while based in Kampot, and those who like knowing their coffee and pastry come with a clear social mission behind them.

Ciao is 4.0 km west of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Sky Kampot Resort&Pool are Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) (4.3 km) and Simple Things (4.3 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Ciao is a small, homely Italian restaurant in the Kampot countryside, run from the owner's own house rather than a conventional dining room. Diego, the Italian owner and sole cook, makes pasta entirely by hand using an old-school manual machine, with herbs and other ingredients coming from the surrounding farmland. The menu runs to dishes like gnocchi, ravioli, and pasta with pesto, all prepared to order on a patio setting that looks out over the fields.

Visitors are consistent in praising the authenticity of the pasta, several calling it the best they've had outside Italy, and many mention returning a second time during a single stay in Kampot. Diego himself comes up repeatedly as warm and welcoming, and guests appreciate that everything is cooked fresh rather than pre-made. The trade-offs mentioned are a wait for food since one person handles the cooking, portions some found on the smaller side, and a remote location that makes arranging a Grab back into town difficult. Cash only is also noted.

Given the setup, this suits travellers happy to plan ahead rather than drop in on a whim: having your own scooter is recommended over relying on a taxi app, and it is worth checking the opening hours before setting out, since the restaurant closes on Sundays and operates only for lunch and early afternoon during the week. It is a good stop for anyone in Kampot wanting a break from Khmer food, or for slow, homemade Italian cooking in a quiet countryside setting, though it is not the place for a quick or highly formal meal.

Krong Kampot is 4.2 km west of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Sky Kampot Resort&Pool are Phnom Kbal Romeas (2.7 km) and Kampot River beach (4.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Krong Kampot is a riverside town in southern Cambodia that has become a growing destination for both local and international visitors. The town sits along the Preaek Tuek Chhu River and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding region, including access to Bokor National Park, pepper farms, and fruit plantations. Visitors find a mix of attractions: colonial-era architecture from the French period, waterfront promenades, boat trips (including evening firefly-watching tours), and fresh seafood restaurants. The town itself operates at a slow pace, with the option to walk through streets with river breezes or explore nearby agricultural areas.

What draws people to Kampot is its unhurried atmosphere and variety of activities within reach. Visitors consistently praise the charm of the old buildings, the relaxed feel of the place, and the quality of local food, particularly the seafood and the region's famous pepper. A pepper farm tour comes recommended by multiple visitors. The riverfront area is noted as pleasant for strolling and watching sunsets. However, some visitors suggest a day or two is sufficient rather than a longer stay, and at least one mentioned that the water quality near the town centre can appear murky. The town is acknowledged as fairly commercial, though this has brought a decent range of restaurants and hotels.

Kampot works best for travellers seeking a quieter stop with cultural and culinary interest rather than a beach resort atmosphere. The pace suits those wanting to rest between busier destinations. The nearby pepper farms and access to Bokor National Park make it useful as a base for day trips. Most visitors see it as a worthwhile detour for one to three days while travelling through southern Cambodia.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool is Samaki Market (4.2 km).

Kampot Night Market is an evening market set at the Durian roundabout in central Kampot, operating from 8 AM to 10 PM daily. The market combines practical shopping with casual dining and entertainment. Visitors find textile stalls, small shops selling clothing and everyday goods, scattered eateries serving budget meals, and a dedicated area with activities for children. It functions primarily as a local gathering place rather than a tourist destination, though visitors do pass through.

Guests consistently describe the market as clean, small, and charming. The food is mentioned positively for being tasty and affordable. Visitors note it is welcoming to families and children, with several describing it as a good spot to hang out with friends or family. The atmosphere appeals to people seeking an authentic local experience rather than a polished tourist venue. No significant complaints appear in visitor feedback, though the size is acknowledged as modest.

The night market operates every day of the week until 10 PM, making it accessible for evening visits. It suits travellers wanting to eat cheaply, browse casual goods, or spend time in a working local market without the scale or intensity of larger city markets. Samaki Market is 4.2 km west of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool — a short ride rather than a walk.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool is Kampot Night Market (4.2 km).

Samaki Market is Kampot's main general market, occupying a central location where locals shop for everyday supplies. The stalls spread across the space with distinct sections: fresh produce including tropical fruits like mangosteen, sugar apple, and salak; seafood and meat counters; clothing and textiles; jewelry; and toys. Beyond retail, the market also houses practical services—hair salons, key cutting, and shoe and clothing repair shops. The atmosphere is authentically local rather than tourist-oriented, with vendors setting up from early morning and the space growing busy with tuk tuks and motorbikes.

Visitors consistently praise the market's range and authenticity, noting that you can find nearly everything in one place at local prices. The produce section draws particular attention, especially the fresh tropical fruits available at the north-side kiosks; seafood like crab is noted at around 3-4 USD per kilogram, with cooking services available for 1-3 USD. The main criticism visitors mention is limited parking, which can be frustrating during peak hours. Several reviewers note that the best time to shop is early morning, around 5am after vendors set up, both for the best selection and to avoid produce that has been sitting out.

The market operates daily from 7am to 5pm. It suits visitors looking to shop like locals, eat inexpensively, or source ingredients for self-catering. Early morning is essential if you want the freshest pick and easier navigation, though expect crowded conditions with vehicular traffic during those peak hours. This is a working market for locals first, so it rewards those who arrive prepared and early.

Bali Massage Kampot is 4.3 km west of Sky Kampot Resort&Pool — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “spa & wellness”.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from Sky Kampot Resort&Pool are Golden Hands Massage & Spa (4.4 km) and Nibi Spa (9.1 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A massage spa in Kampot offering a range of treatments including traditional Khmer massage, foot and leg massage, and four-hand sessions, with complimentary tea served alongside. The space is set up for walk-in and booked appointments, with therapists working individually or in pairs depending on the treatment chosen.

Most visitors come away impressed, singling out particular therapists by name and describing the Khmer massage and four-hand sessions as well executed and reasonably priced, with the synchronized four-hand work drawing repeat praise. The complimentary tea and friendly staff are mentioned as a nice touch. That said, the reviews are not uniform: a couple of visitors found the room cold or the air conditioning poorly maintained, and one described the experience as underwhelming for a specific problem area, noting that pressure and technique did not meet expectations despite trying to communicate through gestures. Oil use appears to carry an extra charge, which caught at least one guest off guard.

Given the mixed but largely positive feedback, this suits travellers looking for an affordable, no-frills massage stop in Kampot rather than a luxury spa experience. It is open daily from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, making it easy to fit in after a day out or before dinner. Guests wanting a specific technique or pressure level should communicate clearly beforehand, since a language barrier has occasionally led to mismatched expectations. Those sensitive to cold rooms might ask about the air conditioning setting in advance. Overall it works well for those after a relaxed, wallet-friendly session, particularly if requesting Leak or the Dilan and Sopheak pairing for four-hand massage.
