About Pheng Chenda Hotel

Pheng Chenda Hotel is a hotel in Poipet, the Cambodian city on the border with Thailand. It sits at MH66+96C in Krong Poi Pet, within the town itself, and functions mainly as a place to stop for a night rather than a destination in its own right.

Rooms are described by guests as clean, with fun decor, though some are older in feel. Reports on the beds differ: some guests found them comfortable, while others found them very firm. Walls between rooms are on the thin side. Pricing draws mixed comment as well — some guests call it reasonable, others expensive for what is offered.

The hotel suits travellers crossing the Cambodia–Thailand border who need a straightforward overnight stay and value a secure, staffed place to sleep. Guests repeatedly single out the reception team, who have gone beyond the usual to help visitors with unexpected problems, including border-crossing complications....

Amazing staff. Like the fool that I am in didn't check to see if the border closed, and these folks went well out of their way to help me.

Not only is this one of the most comfortable and clean hotels I have experienced in the last two months in Cambodia but also... the receptionists were incredibly kind and friendly and they seriously spared me so much stress by helping me out with some unexpected issues, giving beyond what could be expected! Thanks guys, you are a great team! 🙏🏻

Poipet, a border city between Cambodia and Thailand, is known for various crimes, but this hotel provides a relatively safe environment. Though it's expensive, it offers a secure place to stay, often used by women working in nightlife to rest. Despite the high cost, it's a safe option for an overnight stay.

Ok - this place looks nice, but the room is very old, and the bed is harder than a rock! We have stayed on a firm bed before but we actually bounced a 10 baht coin on it and it hit the roof! Do not stay here if you want to sleep.

Decent, clean hotel in Poipet, and the price was reasonable too. Room decor is fun and the walls are a little thin, but they were very clean with comfortable beds.

Bars 1.8 km 23 min walk 4.3/5 on Google

Beach Bar@ Zone3 is 1.8 km south-east of Pheng Chenda Hotel — about 23 minutes on foot.

Beach Bar@ Zone3 is a 24-hour venue in Poipet that combines a bar with dining and recreational space. The setting includes photo-friendly areas throughout the grounds, and the venue operates a night market alongside its main bar and buffet service. Visitors arrive at a gated entrance where staff control access.

Guests consistently report fair pricing and a relaxed atmosphere suited to afternoon and evening hangouts that can stretch past midnight. Food quality and service receive positive mentions from repeat visitors. However, access has been a point of friction—several guests report being turned away at the gate by security despite wanting to enter, which has created frustration for would-be visitors. One visitor noted that kids' pricing at the Saikoku buffet could be more generous.

The bar operates around the clock every day of the week, making it accessible whenever you want to visit. Arrive with realistic expectations about door policy, as security decisions appear inconsistent or unclear. It suits groups and families looking for a casual evening out with food and drinks at moderate prices, provided gate entry goes smoothly.

TUBE COFFEE Poipet is 2.4 km south-east of Pheng Chenda Hotel — about 30 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The other place under “cafés & bakeries” within reach of Pheng Chenda Hotel is Phann Channrithy's Café Shop (13.2 km).

TUBE COFFEE Poipet is a local coffee shop on National Road 5 in central Poipet, set up to serve travellers passing through town and people making stops before heading to Sisophon, Siem Reap, or Battambang. The café offers standard coffee drinks—visitors consistently praise the coconut cream latte—in a cool, air-conditioned space with straightforward ordering and a large parking lot outside.

Visitors describe the staff as friendly and the drinks as good quality, with prices comparable to other Cambodian cafés rather than inflated for a border town. Several guests mention the golden hour atmosphere for an afternoon coffee break. One small note appears in reviews: the ordering system can be confusing, with order numbers that may not match the sequence in which drinks are called. There is only one washroom, which may matter if you arrive during busy periods. The place appears to be part of a wider TUBE COFFEE chain operating in Cambodia.

The café opens at 6:30 AM on weekdays through Saturday and stays open until 10 PM, making it useful as an early morning stop or afternoon break for people on the road. The large car park means you can pull in easily if you are travelling by vehicle. It suits anyone needing a reliable coffee stop in Poipet rather than a destination in itself, though several returning visitors seem to view it as a pleasant local improvement to the town's café scene.
