One of my most favorite hotels ever! Beautiful rooms and stunning tropical grounds in the middle of everything. Easy walk to shops and restaurants but the property oozes tranquility. The staff are unbelievably attentive and so kind. Loved the food, drinks and the massages. The pool was a beautiful spot to spend an afternoon and get away from the heat. A must stay in the area.

Amazing hotel in the heart of the city. Even more amazing staff working here. Too many staff members to list. Special mention to Phalla, Sophanna, Chiang, and Sanuk. Pool is very refreshing and peaceful. Sky bar during the evening is a must to look at the pretty river lit up Saum arkoun 🫶 for being our home during Khmer new year. We hope to return in future.

A beautiful property set in a gorgeous tropical garden. Peace and tranquility throughout. The staff are truly exceptional. Breakfast menu to satisfy the most discerning traveller. No buffet style here. All individually created, and the coffee is fantastic. Enjoyed my 5 nights here with no complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended. Thanks everyone 😁

We had a fantastic time staying at La Riviersa d'Angkor! The rooms are so spacious and relaxing to come back to after big days out and about. The historical and cooling ambiance of the pool and buildings that surround it left you thinking you were miles from the town. Locality is great - walk to the town and along the river - its all just outside your door. Hospitality was great and we got lots of help organising things to do. Loved it!!!

I recently stayed at this charming resort in Siem Reap, and it exceeded my expectations! The property seamlessly blends old colonial architecture with modern extensions. Its prime location near the old market, pub streets, and eateries (including halal and vegan options like Kebab & Falafel Time and The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe) is a major plus. The rooms are spacious, clean, with comfortable beds, strong air conditioning, and luxurious bathrooms. While the TV only accesses YouTube, you can bring your own movies on a thumb drive for a cozy night in. The pool is lovely and very clean, and breakfast is simple yet satisfying with a selection of set menus and free-flow juices and coffee/tea. The staff are helpful, polite, and hardworking. Given its reasonable prices, and above with excellent amenities, I'd highly recommend this resort to fellow travellers. I'll definitely be back for future trips to Siem Reap!

The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe

Cafés & bakeries 162 m 2 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe is 162 m west of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are Brother Bong Cafe (418 m) and Dialogue (451 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe is a small coffee shop on Hup Guan Street in Siem Reap, located upstairs in a building that's easy to miss from street level. The space includes a terrace with local artwork and plenty of seating, both indoors with air conditioning and outside. The menu centres on coffee drinks, bagels, pancakes, and baked goods, with several vegan and vegetarian options available. The cafe operates daily except Wednesdays, opening at 7 am.

Visitors consistently praise the quality of the coffee, particularly the lattes, flat whites, and cold brew, alongside fresh pastries and breakfast items like Nordic-style bagels and peanut butter pancakes with cashews and maple syrup. The staff are described as friendly and attentive, and the environment is noted as clean and well-maintained. Most reviews highlight the good value for money and mention that locals frequent the place alongside tourists. One visitor noted the vegan brownie and cookie as standouts. The main caveat is closing time: several guests have found the cafe closing before its stated 5 pm finish, so arriving earlier in the afternoon is advisable if you want an unhurried visit.

The cafe suits anyone seeking proper espresso drinks and Western-style breakfast food in Siem Reap, particularly those with vegetarian or vegan requirements. It works well for a leisurely morning or early afternoon, with free WiFi and staff who don't rush guests. Note that it closes on Wednesdays and, despite opening at 7 am, may close somewhat earlier than the published hours suggest.

Sights 258 m 3 min walk 4.4/5 on Google

Made in Cambodia Market is 258 m north-west of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 3 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are Royal Residence (458 m) and Pub Street (497 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Made in Cambodia Market is a curated marketplace on Oum Khun Street selling locally made handicrafts, jewelry, and silk scarves alongside street food stalls. It differs from Siem Reap's larger tourist markets by operating at a smaller scale with a focus on artisan-made goods: handcrafted jewelry, brass and copper items, textiles, handbags, and artwork. The market also stocks local alcohol options. Benches near the entrance provide a place to rest between browsing.

Visitors consistently praise the atmosphere and product quality. The market is calm, well-organized, and notably clean compared to busier markets. Shopkeeping styles differ markedly from high-pressure sales tactics found elsewhere; staff are described as friendly and non-pushy, allowing browsing at leisure. The goods carry higher prices than mass-produced souvenirs, reflecting their handmade nature and quality. Repeat visitors mention specific stallholders like jewelry maker Say Sieng. The main reservation from reviews is cost: this is not the place for budget shopping, though visitors who prioritize quality over price consistently say it justifies the expense.

The market opens daily from noon to 9 PM. It suits travellers looking for distinctive, genuinely Cambodian souvenirs rather than generic tourist stock, and those who prefer a relaxed shopping environment without crowds or negotiation pressure. Allow an hour to browse comfortably. If you're staying in central Siem Reap and want to support local artisans while shopping in a pleasant setting, it's worth the visit; if your priority is finding bargains, look elsewhere.

Bars 265 m 3 min walk 4.5/5 on Google

Barcode Bar Siem Reap is 265 m south of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 3 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are Laundry Bar (404 m) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (466 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Barcode Bar is a drag show venue in Siem Reap's Mondul 1 Village that runs performances nightly from 9 pm. The bar seats guests for a three-hour show featuring performers in elaborate costumes. Visitors describe a casual, welcoming space with air conditioning and a mix of seating, from main tables to spots available on busier nights. The atmosphere draws both tourists passing through and repeat visitors to the city.

Guests consistently praise the quality and energy of the performances, with multiple reviews highlighting the entertainers' costumes and engaging stage presence. The staff and performers are frequently mentioned as warm and approachable—several visitors note that performers remember guests from previous nights and interact with the crowd after acts. The three-hour show format draws praise for its sustained energy. Atmospherically, reviews describe the crowd as lively and welcoming, particularly later in the evening on weekends, though Sunday nights are reportedly quieter than Saturday. The bar stocks drinks that visitors describe as good, though specifics are not detailed in guest feedback.

The venue opens at 8 pm Tuesday through Sunday, with shows beginning at 9 pm and running until around midnight or later. It's closed Mondays. The location in Mondul 1 Village is accessible but not in central Siem Reap's main tourist strip. The three-hour show length and late-night hours make it suitable for visitors planning an evening out rather than a quick drink, and guests mention it as family-friendly for teenagers. Arriving early on weekends ensures better seat options.

Museums & galleries 367 m 5 min walk 5.0/5 on Google

The River Gallery is 367 m north-east of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 5 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “museums & galleries”.

The next two places under “museums & galleries” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are The Cocoon House - Art Gallery, Concept Store, Fashion Vintage and Skate Shop - by Cocoon Limited (2.3 km) and SM Art Center (2.8 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A small gallery in Siem Reap showing paintings by Cambodian artists, ranging from established names to those exhibiting for the first time. Visitors describe it as compact rather than sprawling, with original pieces and prints available across a range of price points, giving the space a working-gallery feel rather than a museum-style display. Part of the appeal is the story behind the art itself, with several works reflecting the artists' own perspectives on Cambodia's past.

Guests consistently mention the quality and atmosphere as standing apart from the artwork sold around the night market and Pub Street area, calling it a more serious stop for anyone actually interested in buying local art. The staff come up often and favourably, with one visitor naming a guide, Julia, whose explanations of individual paintings were described as bringing the work to life. Reviewers also note that a portion of sales revenue goes toward supporting art education for students, which several found meaningful rather than incidental to the visit. No real complaints or caveats surface in the reviews, though its small size is mentioned as a fact rather than a flaw.

The gallery is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It suits travellers with an interest in contemporary Cambodian art, whether browsing or looking to buy an original piece or print, and works well as a quieter counterpoint to the temple circuit. Given the small footprint, a visit tends to be short, but those keen on hearing about individual works should allow time to talk with staff rather than just walk through.

Bars 404 m 5 min walk 4.6/5 on Google

Laundry Bar is 404 m south of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 5 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are Barcode Bar Siem Reap (265 m) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (466 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Laundry Bar is a casual bar on Street 26 in Siem Reap with pool tables, a counter serving craft beers and cocktails, and a simple food menu. The space has the feel of a neighbourhood drinking spot rather than a tourist venue, though it draws visitors from across the world. It opens from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily and is known particularly for Wednesday nights, when open-mic performances bring live music to the bar.

Visitors consistently praise the social atmosphere and the mix of people you can meet there—solo travellers often mention it as an easy place to strike up conversations with expats and locals. Pool games are a draw, and those who attend Wednesday's open-mic night tend to be enthusiastic about the music and talent on display. Reviewers highlight the craft beer selection and cocktail quality. One note: some visitors report limited drink variety and have found the venue's responsiveness to orders inconsistent on quieter nights. Non-drinkers may find the mocktail selection thin.

The bar suits anyone looking for a low-key evening with other travellers and a chance to play pool or listen to live music. Wednesday is the night to go if you want a fuller room and live performances. Arrive after 4 p.m. It works best if you're prepared to order drinks readily and engage with the crowd; it is less ideal if you prefer a quieter table experience or need a wide range of non-alcoholic options.

Brother Bong Cafe

Cafés & bakeries 418 m 5 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

Brother Bong Cafe is 418 m east of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 5 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe (162 m) and Dialogue (451 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Brother Bong Cafe sits on Street 20 in Siem Reap, open daily from early morning to late afternoon. It functions as a proper breakfast and lunch stop rather than a quick coffee counter, with a menu that stretches from English breakfast plates and smashed avocado to Khmer dishes, sandwiches and baguettes, alongside its coffee program, which has roots in an earlier Phnom Penh location.

Reviews are largely enthusiastic, with repeat visitors mentioning the coffee, particularly iced lattes, and the generous, well-made baguettes and breakfast plates as standouts. Vegetarian options and friendly, attentive staff come up often, and some travellers say they returned daily during longer stays. A few notes of caution surface too: one visitor found the sausage in a dish more like a street-style meatball than expected, and another flags that credit cards are not accepted, something staff did not volunteer in advance.

Go for breakfast or lunch rather than a late-day visit, since it closes in the afternoon, and expect it to be busy even on weekends, so a short wait for a table is possible. Bring cash to be safe, as card payments have not always been accepted. It suits travellers wanting a relaxed, well-designed café setting with a broad menu covering both Western breakfast staples and Khmer food, and it has drawn a loyal following among those coming back multiple times during a Siem Reap stay.

Relax Spa is 425 m west of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 5 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “spa & wellness”.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are The Spa Siem Reap (765 m) and The Secret Eden Spa (1.3 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Relax Spa sits right next to the Park Hyatt in central Siem Reap, offering massage and body treatments in private rooms. Visitors mention a welcome of tea on arrival, a cold towel and refreshment before treatments, and a hot beverage plus fresh mango afterward. Massage oils come in a choice of scents, including lemongrass, and the facility itself is described as clean, spacious and well air-conditioned. Options mentioned by guests include shoulder, back, neck and head massages, foot massages, full body massages, and couples sessions.

Reviews are consistently positive and repeatedly note steady, well-judged pressure from therapists held for the full duration, friendly and professional staff, and a calm, comfortable atmosphere that some guests connect to Khmer and Buddhist sensibilities. Several reviewers highlight promotional discounts, including a 50% off deal that made longer sessions, such as a two-hour massage, feel like good value. A couple of guests mention personal touches, such as staff arranging a small birthday surprise. No significant complaints appear across the reviews, though the frequent mention of time-limited promotions suggests standard rates may differ from what some visitors paid.

The spa is open daily from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, making it workable for an evening treatment after a day at the temples or a pre-dinner stop given its Central Park location. Given its popularity and the mentions of discounted packages, it is worth asking about current promotions when booking, and reserving ahead if you want a specific time slot or a couples room. It suits travellers wanting a straightforward, comfortable massage experience in a convenient, easy-to-find location rather than a resort-style wellness retreat.

Cafés & bakeries 451 m 6 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

Dialogue is 451 m south of La Riviere d' Angkor Resort — about 6 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from La Riviere d' Angkor Resort are The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe (162 m) and Brother Bong Cafe (418 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Dialogue is a cafe on Street 27 in Siem Reap with both indoor and rooftop seating. The menu mixes western and Asian cuisines, anchored by a strong coffee program. Visitors report the espresso and lattes are among the best in town. The kitchen turns out standout dishes like fried rice and tenderloins, though some guests found other items unremarkable. Breakfast options include variations on eggs — one visitor had English muffin with poached eggs, hollandaise and bacon — though the cafe does not offer a full traditional English breakfast.

Staff are consistently praised as helpful and friendly, though there is a notable caveat. One guest mentioned that despite requesting it multiple times, their dishes arrived with bean sprouts despite a stated allergy, which raised concern for anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies. The kitchen's attention to special requests appears inconsistent. On the upside, visitors note the carbonara is rich and satisfying if you enjoy heavy sauces, though it may not suit lighter preferences.

The rooftop setting is described as chill and atmospheric, with indoor seating available too. Dialogue opens daily at 7 AM and stays open until midnight (closed Sundays), making it accessible for breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch or evening visits. Happy hour pricing makes it affordable. The location sits walking distance from Pub Street, though the daytime frontage can be hard to spot from the street — it sits on the corner of Street 26 and Wat Bo Road. This works well for anyone after reliable coffee and a casual meal, though diners with food allergies should verify orders carefully with staff.
