Honestly super disappointed with our overall experience at this resort. We had high expectations, especially because we previously stayed at another resort on the island and had a much better experience there. Given that this is the more well-known and established resort on the island, along with its pricing and reputation, we expected a higher standard of quality and service. Unfortunately, the resort felt old and outdated in many areas. The rooms were plain, lacked character, and appeared in need of renovation. Some corners of the walls were damaged and had not been repaired, which gave the space a neglected feel. The bathroom amenities also felt super low quality and did not match the premium rates being charged. The pool areas were another disappointment, as we noticed leaves and trash in the water, which affected the overall atmosphere and maintenance standards. Dining in the evening restaurant was also underwhelming. While I understand that island destinations often come with higher prices due to logistics, the pricing here felt excessive for what was offered. The portions, service quality, and overall experience did not reflect the cost. Service was particularly slow, and I had to ask staff several times for simple requests before receiving assistance. What disappointed me most is that the resort seems to rely on its long-standing name and popularity rather than continuing to improve and modernize the property. Hospitality trends evolve, and guests paying premium pric

Beautiful, secluded resort with the warmest of staff to take care of your every requirement with a smile. It rained during my visit, but the warm and friendly greetings of all of the personnel on site made what could have been a weather-disappointing holiday into a really nice retreat. I highly recommend this place to anyone in seek of serenity, privacy and beauty. A special acknowledgement to Ezekiel for going above and beyond his responsibility and helping to prepare things before, during and after my stay. He’s an asset to the resort.

Even though there are two hotels on the island, this one truly felt like being on a private island. We stayed in a pool villa with a beautiful view, which made the experience even more special. There were hornbills and many other small and larger birds around the island, and it was clear that the hotel takes good care of the wildlife in this protected area. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel also offers a spa (which was okay), movies under the stars and boat trips. We were able to message the staff whenever we needed something, and they were very accommodating and did their best to fulfill all our requests. Overall, it was a really lovely stay with an amazing view. Even though we had some issues with our private pool, the staff tried their best to fix it, and we would still recommend staying here.

Paradise! We stayed last December with my husband and our two sons. It was my husband’s birthday and also our 10 year anniversary. The room design was very nice, with a comfortable bed and a private swimming pool. The room was clean and had a turndown service, which our two boys loved especially the rice cakes every night. There were many activities, but it seemed that no one proactively approached guests we always had to go to the lobby ourselves. The food was good but with limited options. There was no kids menu, and the happy hour cocktail selection had only four items. On our first day, the kids food was delayed, but Ezekiel sorted it out immediately. Ezekiel is truly the key person of the resort. We told him that my husband and I wanted to have a massage together, but we didn’t know where to leave our two boys. He found a solution right away he suggested keeping them in the playroom and arranged someone to take care of them so we could relax and celebrate our 10 year anniversary. This is real 5 star service. He always checked on us and other guests during breakfast and dinner to make sure everyone was okay. The hotel has great potential. Management should consider hiring more staff and building another kitchen at the beach shack to improve service efficiency. Overall, it was a wonderful birthday and anniversary stay. Special thanks to Ezekiel.

I booked a room for three days, but it rained every day. The menu only had a few dishes, and the swimming pool was full of fallen leaves. I said I wanted fried chicken, and he gave me three servings of pan-fried chicken breasts, charging me $17 for each. I only ate two bites before stopping; it was completely inedible and tasteless.

Cafés & bakeries 159.2 km 4.5/5 on Google

EE-cafe is 159.2 km north-east of Koh Russey Resort — a short ride rather than a walk.

This countryside café in Kirirom offers coffee in a spacious, clean setting. Visitors find it a peaceful spot with functioning facilities, though it serves drinks rather than food. The atmosphere appeals to those seeking a quiet break in a rural location.

Guests consistently highlight the coffee quality and reasonable prices, along with the cleanliness of the space and toilets. Several mention the peacefulness of the setting. One visitor noted the limitation that food is not served here, only beverages, which is worth knowing if you plan a longer stop. The overall feedback suggests a straightforward, functional café rather than a destination venue.

The café suits travellers passing through Kirirom who want a coffee break without fanfare, or anyone seeking a calm spot away from busier areas. Go expecting coffee and a quiet atmosphere, not a meal or elaborate service. The rural location means it works best as a planned stop rather than a casual drop-in.
