I stayed at the resort several years ago, and I enjoyed the pool, the complementary breakfast, the boardwalk and the garden inside the resort. I didn't care about the casino. Back then, things looked great. It seems a bit more quiet now. The townhomes adjacent to the casino looked neglected. Too bad, because it was well planned. One wonders what it would take to turn things around.

Lovely resort on the boarder but only staying for 1 night so that I can re-enter Thailand so that I get an extra 30 visa . The place is top notch and very well maintained . Nice pool , a casino and well maintained gardens . Only problem is the location as if you are not a gambler there is nothing to do at nights .

A group of nineteen arrived on NYE after a very bumpy 6 hour drive from Sihanoukville (beware the road in and out of Koh Kong is dreadful)...when we get there on the surface appears quite nice..impressive building and pool. It doesn't take long to work out this hotel is horrid. No warm welcome..In fact no hospitality at all..the rudest staff ever which is so unusual for South East Asia ..wouldn't serve us in the hotel restaurant until they had fed the Casino VIP guests..breakfast inedible. I have nothing good to say about this place and if I could I'd give them no stars. Don't waste your time or money at $100 usd pernight it's daylight robbery

The decorations is awesome, swimming pool, gym and other facilities is good. But the bathroom is not so clean. Some dirts can be seen clearly. In addition, NO WIFI in the room! That's quite unacceptable!

Stayed during 25-27/1/2018. Price (3,100 Baht/night) was a bit too hight when compared to those same hotels level. Room was clean and organized but no hair dryer. Unbelievable that Wi-Fi was not provided in the room except at lobby area. Breakfast was fully served only on the weekend. On the weekdays was served as alacrate only with a limited order. The food was delicious and tasty. Looking forward to spend more nights there if the price would be more reasonable.

Trapeang Rung Restaurant

Restaurants 46.8 km 4.1/5 on Google

Trapeang Rung Restaurant is 46.8 km south-east of Koh Kong Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The other place under “restaurants” within reach of Koh Kong Resort is Cambodian - Cham Halal Food Restaurant (47.1 km).

Trapeang Rung Restaurant is a casual dining spot in Koh Kong village serving Cambodian food throughout the day. The restaurant has a spacious layout with ample parking, and visitors describe the location as reasonably clean. The owner operates the place on a friendly basis, and the kitchen moves orders through quickly.

Most visitors praise the food quality and price point, with several noting the portions and flavour represent good value. However, the menu includes bushmeat, which may concern travellers with wildlife conservation interests — though alternative dishes are available. One visitor reported being overcharged and advised checking portion sizes and confirming prices before ordering, particularly for rice and meat dishes, to avoid paying inflated rates.

The restaurant opens daily from 7 AM to 9 PM, making it accessible for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It suits travellers looking for straightforward local food without formality, and those with their own transport will appreciate the parking. Budget-conscious visitors should clarify pricing upfront to ensure transparent dealings.

Cambodian - Cham Halal Food Restaurant

Restaurants 47.1 km 4.0/5 on Google

Cambodian - Cham Halal Food Restaurant is 47.1 km south-east of Koh Kong Resort — a short ride rather than a walk.

The other place under “restaurants” within reach of Koh Kong Resort is Trapeang Rung Restaurant (46.8 km).

Cambodian - Cham Halal Food Restaurant sits along the road to Koh Kong near Tatai. It serves pre-cooked Khmer dishes kept in pots throughout the day, with a fixed menu that changes seasonally. The setting is casual roadside dining with basic facilities.

Visitors give mixed reports. Several praise the taste of the food and cleanliness, noting fair prices and attentive service. However, other diners felt unwelcome and reported paying significantly more than they would elsewhere in Cambodia for the same dishes, with one guest citing an inflated water bottle charge. Multiple reviewers mention the pre-cooked nature of the dishes as a drawback, noting that food sits in pots for extended periods before serving. The perception of value varies considerably between visitors.

The restaurant operates daily from 7 AM to 9:30 PM, making it accessible for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It works best as a casual stop if you are traveling between Tatai and Koh Kong and want something quick rather than a destination meal. Check prices before ordering if budget is a concern, as visitors have reported inconsistent pricing. The halal certification will matter to some diners, but not to others passing through.
