About Koh Andet Eco Resort

Koh Andet Eco Resort is a resort hotel on Tatai River Island in Koh Kong Province, Cambodia, reached by boat from the Tatai bridge on a transfer the resort arranges. Accommodation includes 12 water bungalows and floating rooms, plus elevated rondavels that look out over the river. Rooms are rustic and somewhat aged, which is part of the eco-resort character, and there is a range of room types suited to solo travellers, couples and larger groups.

Each bungalow has its own small porch or deck with kayaks outside, so you can step from your room straight into the warm river water for a swim or paddle around Andet Island at no extra cost. The resort runs a boat trip around the surrounding area, and food and drink come from the resort's own extensive menu — the only option, since the island is isolated and everything you eat and do comes from the resort team.

The area

The resort sits on Tatai River Island in Tatai, Koh Kong, Cambodia, at the end of a river and surrounded by jungle. Access is by boat from the Tatai bridge, with pick-up and drop-off arranged by the resort. The setting is isolated, so guests rely on the resort for meals and activities. The river is the main traffic route through the area, so passing boats are audible.

Good to know

The resort is open 24 hours, Thursday through Wednesday, and can be reached on +855 81 991 717. Boat pick-up and drop-off from Tatai bridge is organised by the resort. Because the island is isolated, food, drink and activities are provided by the resort team only. Bring insect repellent; nights are cool.

12 Water Bungalows Whoever leaves less than 4/5 on this forum should not venture here; you are still in the middle of a jungle, so don't forget that. With that in mind for the prices you pay for the surrounding is once in a life time before the Chinese begin with their forest projects. You are surrounded by jungle, on the end of a river. Your bungalows and decks have kayaks outside. The menu is extensive. The drinks are slightly expensive but it is what it is. Please tell me anywhere else in the world where you can come and be surrounded by jungle in a high end lodge for this price. The rooms are very large with full toilet, lovely shower. Large beds and mosquito nets. The surroundings will enable you to reflect. This is the most tranquil place I have ever been. Take a Whiskey sour in the restaurant and watch the world go by... Play volleyball with the staff in the evening. Tons of activities if you want them; kayaking, mangroves, nature tours etc.

My husband and I stayed (sadly just) for one night at this lovely river hotel earlier this month. We loved it so much ... the fact that we got picked up "under the large bridge" with a boat transfer organized by the hotel, the owner was actually the boat himself, too - was so cool. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Once we got there we were excited to get comfortable in the rustic, yet beautiful floating room at night. Then you just step outside onto the small porch of your room, the warm river water is right there for you to take that morning swim (which we did the next morning before breakfast). I just wished we could have had at least 3 more nights there, to fully indulge in the peaceful surrounding and jungle sounds around us. What a beautiful and serene experience this place offers (from kayaking to boat trips into the jungle...). One can hear only water-sounds, birds, and howling monkeys from a distance when you wake up. Altogether we would definitely recommend Koh Andet Eco Resort to anyone traveling to this rather remote area within Cambodia.

If you like nature and silence this is the place to be. We staid here for 2 nights and the view from the floating home is stunning - only nature. It's good to realize the resort is very isolated so you rely on activities and food provided by the resorts team. This was a bit mixed, first the people were very nice, but service around diner and sleeping facilities are below average. At the other hand we did the boat trip around the resort and that was fantastic. So all in all it was a very good experience, I think if they manage to improve the service on the diner and hotel part this will improve the experience.

Fantastically located. The rooms are well designed albeit a little aged but it contributes much to the eco resort feel. There's plenty of room selection for lone travellers, couples and large groups. The service may be less than the regular resorts but you will get used to it as u would expect the least amount of contact so that u could be one with the environment. Expect boat noises as it is the main traffic way along the stream. The nights are nice and cool and be prepared to bring insect repellant. Food is abit costly and the waiting time is slightly longer but it doesn't damage the whole experience too much. I fear the lack of staff may be contributing to the lack of the upkeep and minor delays in the service. But overall it was a pleasant experience. PS: there's a nice mini waterfall just 300meters away from the resort and it's definitely worth the 20 or so minutes hike. Follow the wooden path and make a hard left after the wood path ends.

I had a great experience here with friendly staff. The room was well-maintained and clean. The view in front of my room was superb. You can enjoy swimming and kayaking around Andet Island for free. The food and drink were okay. ONE Need to be improved: The safety during picking up and returing. The life jacket shall be offered to the guests.

Trapeang Rung Restaurant

Restaurants 20.9 km 4.1/5 on Google

Trapeang Rung Restaurant is 20.9 km south-east of Koh Andet Eco Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The other place under “restaurants” within reach of Koh Andet Eco Resort is Cambodian - Cham Halal Food Restaurant (21.3 km).

Trapeang Rung Restaurant is a casual dining spot in Koh Kong village serving Cambodian food throughout the day. The restaurant has a spacious layout with ample parking, and visitors describe the location as reasonably clean. The owner operates the place on a friendly basis, and the kitchen moves orders through quickly.

Most visitors praise the food quality and price point, with several noting the portions and flavour represent good value. However, the menu includes bushmeat, which may concern travellers with wildlife conservation interests — though alternative dishes are available. One visitor reported being overcharged and advised checking portion sizes and confirming prices before ordering, particularly for rice and meat dishes, to avoid paying inflated rates.

The restaurant opens daily from 7 AM to 9 PM, making it accessible for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It suits travellers looking for straightforward local food without formality, and those with their own transport will appreciate the parking. Budget-conscious visitors should clarify pricing upfront to ensure transparent dealings.

Restaurants 21.3 km 4.0/5 on Google

Cambodian - Cham Halal Food Restaurant is 21.3 km south-east of Koh Andet Eco Resort — a short ride rather than a walk.

The other place under “restaurants” within reach of Koh Andet Eco Resort is Trapeang Rung Restaurant (20.9 km).

Cambodian - Cham Halal Food Restaurant sits along the road to Koh Kong near Tatai. It serves pre-cooked Khmer dishes kept in pots throughout the day, with a fixed menu that changes seasonally. The setting is casual roadside dining with basic facilities.

Visitors give mixed reports. Several praise the taste of the food and cleanliness, noting fair prices and attentive service. However, other diners felt unwelcome and reported paying significantly more than they would elsewhere in Cambodia for the same dishes, with one guest citing an inflated water bottle charge. Multiple reviewers mention the pre-cooked nature of the dishes as a drawback, noting that food sits in pots for extended periods before serving. The perception of value varies considerably between visitors.

The restaurant operates daily from 7 AM to 9:30 PM, making it accessible for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It works best as a casual stop if you are traveling between Tatai and Koh Kong and want something quick rather than a destination meal. Check prices before ordering if budget is a concern, as visitors have reported inconsistent pricing. The halal certification will matter to some diners, but not to others passing through.
