Chi Pat is truly a hidden gem surrounded by beautiful waterfalls, lush mountains, and rich wildlife. My experience there was amazing. The place is so peaceful and relaxing, perfect for escaping from the busy city life. I enjoyed exploring the natural trails, listening to the sounds of nature, and feeling completely refreshed. The locals were welcoming, and the overall atmosphere made me feel calm and connected to nature. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful place to unwind and enjoy the true beauty of Cambodia’s nature, Chi Pat is definitely worth visiting.

Chiphat Community Eco Tourist is a wonderful natural getaway that offers a refreshing escape! The cool waters are perfect for swimming, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. The lodges provide food and accommodation, which is convenient for those looking to stay longer. While the menu selection can be somewhat limited, it's understandable given the location's distance from the city center. Getting to this hidden gem requires a transit with local vehicles, but the journey is well worth it. Overall, it's a lovely place to connect with nature and enjoy a peaceful retreat. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a unique eco-tourism experience!

We loved our over-night jungle trek with some bird watching. I will be honest, the bird watching portion was very half baked. Half because we never stopped anywhere long enough to properly watch birds. But also because our guide was more interested in talking about other things and his bird knowledge was never unleashed properly. With that said, the trip on the whole was brilliant. We loved it all, particularly the hammock jungle camp! You walk about 14km per day through very nice secondary forest. You see various pieces of evidence from the impressive Wildlife around. Like elephant poop, bear scratches, wild car poop, and a lot of sounds - particularly at night. I always think that if you are in a forest that haa a lot of evidence of the animals, but you don't see them, then you are in a very wild place! Guide was lovely, and the chef was great! You won't want for food!

First I stopped my bike here around 12pm to look for lunch and coffee, and one kind woman came to me and gave me some advice/tips about Chi Phat and community centre services. Later I talked to a man, Lin, who is an indigenous Chong. I asked Lin to recommend me few beautiful waterfalls / how to reach there cuz I planned to go back around Srae Ambel around 4pm. From community center everyone can get any advice regarding to tour in Chi Phat like trekking, kayaking, or biking. Therefore, we as visitors or tour organizers, can seek information. As soon as you cross the river by ferry boat, you find the center there.

Chi Phat is not an easy place to get to. First you take a bus then you take a 45 minute motorcycle ride on the back of a stranger or a two hour boat ride to a small community where you check in for your stay. Their site did not have any google maps associated with it. The descriptions of the treks are not well written and have vague descriptors of the effort level required easy/medium/hard. We chose the easy 1day hike to see a waterfall and bat cave. It ended up being a 13 mile round trip hike. We only stayed at the waterfall about 20 minutes before it was off to the bat cave. I would hardly call it a cave, it was more of a large opening behind a small waterfall. Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty but there weren’t even any bats. We ate all of our meals at the community center. They were very good and had meat/vegetarian/vegan options. There is a small bar that is also open in the evenings. I feel that this place would definitely benefit from a good English speaker. We had a lot of miscommunication regarding the treks and with our guide on the trek. It would have been nice to take it a little slower than we did to take pictures and more water breaks. Overall the people were nice and we enjoyed the hike. I hope they plan on improving their program and website to make this a better experience.

Cafés & bakeries 61.5 km 4.2/5 on Google

Blue cafe is 61.5 km north-east of Chi Phat Community-Based Ecotourism Site — a short ride rather than a walk.

Blue cafe is a small restaurant located in Choam, Chi Phat, offering casual dining in a modest setting. It serves as a neighbourhood spot where locals gather, and the menu is reasonably priced. The compact size means it maintains an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere rather than catering to large groups or formal occasions.

Visitors consistently describe the place as straightforward and good value. Reviewers mention that it caters well to local tastes and habits, with pricing that won't strain a budget. The feedback is generally positive though expressed in measured terms rather than enthusiastic praise — most comments fall in the "ok" to "good" range, suggesting it delivers what you'd expect from a neighbourhood cafe without particular surprises.

This is the kind of place to visit if you're comfortable with simple, casual dining and want to eat where local people do. Given its size, it works better for individuals or small groups than large parties. There's no information about opening hours or specific menu items, so it's worth asking locals for current details when you arrive in Chi Phat, particularly if you have dietary requirements or are visiting during off-peak times.
