The Room & Amenities: The room was spacious enough and everything was clean and usable, including the bathroom. The best feature is the outdoor area: each room has chairs out front, which are great for quietly discussing work. There's also a swimming pool. Note that there is no free breakfast or complimentary snacks. The service is good. The staff aren't overly friendly, but they are helpful and will provide what you need if you ask. The location is a major plus if you need to cross the border. It's very near Cambodia and a short trip to Vietnam. For convenience, there's a mart right in front of the hotel where you can buy drinks and snacks. Important Note: The atmosphere is very quiet. Please be respectful of other guests and avoid loud conversations that could disturb them. (Overall Experience) A quiet and peaceful boutique hotel that is perfectly reasonable for a short-term stay. The overall experience was good, earning a solid 7/10 from me. It's a practical choice if you need a functional place near the border.

The view of this Boutique hotel is good, fair price with swimming pool, fresh environment surrounded the place. but the owner should setup instructions on how to lock the room doors, as it is a bit difficult to lock it, if they are first time. One more thing no suitable foods available nearby. It will be difficult for those who stay without transport.

If you're stuck at the border, waiting for a visa like we were, this is the place to go!! We stayed here for 2 nights, and had a great time. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. It's a lovely little oasis, away from the noise of the main road. The pool is also great to relax at. We stayed in 2 different rooms. Both were nice, although the second room smelled of cigarettes, which was a little gross, but you couldn't really do anything about that. For the area, the prices are pretty cheap too! I never want to go back to krong Bavet, but if I had to, this is where I would stay again!

Stayed here while waiting for our visa for Vietnam and the staff is really kind, they don’t speak a lot of English but we were able to communicate with Google translate If you’re also waiting for your visa it’s the best place to stay and for food you can order through apps such as WowNow or Panda - order from CofiBook which is the best restaurant nearby, or you can go walking from hotel but there’s almost no walkway

Mari Café

Restaurants 70.0 km 4.4/5 on Google

Mari Café is 70.0 km north-west of Bavet Boutique Hotel — a short ride rather than a walk.

Mari Café is a casual restaurant in Me Sang District, Svay Rieng, operating from early morning to evening. It serves as a neighbourhood spot for breakfast and lunch, opening at 6:00 AM and staying open until 8:00 PM daily.

Visitor feedback is sparse, though one review suggests caution about the beverage selection or quality. With only a handful of reviews on record, there is limited insight into what the kitchen does well or where expectations might not be met.

The café suits early risers and those seeking a simple meal in the area. It is open seven days a week, making it a reliable option for regular visitors to Me Sang District. Arrive during standard daytime hours for the best experience, as is typical for small-town Cambodian cafés.
